Hedy Lamarr was incredible! Learned about some of her contributions during WWII, and have been reading about her life ever since.

    She co-invented frequency hopping

She didn't "invent" it. She co-invented a forerunner to wifi with George Anthiel. What angers me about this "genius" nonsense leveled at Hedy Lamarr is the obvious sexism it implies. It basically says that "beauty" and "brains" don't mix, and it is a "shock" when they do. Lamarr was known as an actress and will always be known as an actress primarily. That is nothing to be ashamed of. She is not the only actress who invented things; Julie Newmar also did it. Big deal. Lamarr was in no sense a "scientist," as the current nonsense tries to paint her. Furthermore, if Lamarr were really that smart, she wouldn't have been married and divorced so many times, got arrested for shoplifting, and basically died broke. I refuse to watch anything that doesn't tell the truth or wildly distorts the facts.

@@ValleyoftheRogue thank you for your very opinionated thoughtful comment. The reason I told her story is that, like most women that invent things that are common today, unfortunately they pass broke and unknown. She’s more than a “pretty face”, she is a smart woman. Being an actress is OF COURSE nothing to be ashamed of! I NEVER said that in my video.
Just because she was married and divorced doesn’t make her any less amazing or the “genius” type. They are plenty of men who are divorced many times and have done amazing things, but because of the “sexism”, a man divorcing multiple times is seen as “fine” whereas the women it’s a “revolving door”. Also like many respectable people, she made a mistake in her shoplifting. Look at the recent DUI of Justin Timberlake, he’s so famous and should know better but had a lapse in judgment. If I was inaccurate about facts, please tell me, I would love to know! However I don’t think I was wrong in what I presented.

I'd like to start out my subscription to your channel by saying my 20 something year young brother once argued with me that women never had anything to do with winning wars or the progress of humans 😑 I damn near combusted! Instead, I asked if he knew who Hedy Lamarr is, and he said no. I told him to look her up, and then we'll talk. He demanded a reason. I responded by calmly stating (with the agitation of a big sister) that women not only were held back from helping in wars, but women are the reason he could speak to me on a cell phone. I said this woman was THE victim AND visionary of both! He was salty and hung up lol oh my lordddtttsss 🫠 so thank you for being awesome ❤
