I’m glad double click doesn’t remove the band that would annoy the hell out of me! Also you shoulda checked out the freq clash mode in multi eq display, total game changer. RIP Kirchoff eq 😁
This plugin kicks butt! After using it for only 30 minutes I was hooked, zero buyers remorse. It's a nice upgrade from Q3. Right now has holiday pricing so it's even a better deal.!
That's really bizarre because for the life of me, I cannot get this to work.. maybe it's because I'm on a track pad. But two fingers doesn't help either.
I love how every new plugin from Fabfilter tells us how the evolution of their other plugins will likely follow. So exciting! And yeah, how can you not love this?
I've already bought the update. It's definitely better than Pro-Q3 and honestly I miss "only" one thing - a split into transient/tonal parts per band. I love this feature in SplitEQ and ToneBoosters Equalizer Pro and I was sure that Pro-Q4 would have it. Anyway, FabFilter EQ is still one of the best EQs in the world :)
A frequency-dependent band-limited spectral (sidechain-) compressor isn't really an innovation. And maybe not necessarily a good idea either, since it directly affects individual partial tones and thus the timbre of the instruments it's used on. Do you want that in the field of mixing/mastering? Not necessarily, right? I don't know if this feature would justify the purchase price for me...
@@FoliaSoundbut smart eq can be used as a standard eq and if I’m not mistaken it has most os the features of pro-q but with Ai as well. If you’ve used I’m curious your comparison of both
I don't like the new ui as much : ( To be honest I dont love the proq3 ui either, I like to use a really small ui, and fabfilters stuff doesnt scale well small. Its designed to be big Yeah i wish the shift key would change the slope. The slope controls get hidden when you run it on a small size
Helllooo! What do you think about new Pro-Q4? Getting it? Sticking to Pro-Q3? Kirchhoff? Something else? Let me know down below!
i got Pro-Q 3 during Black Friday and got the upgrade to 4 for free, cool!
N A Y S !

so happy its already torrented
AI would of been something to take Q4 over the top, maybe its possible to still add some resonance suppression AI for starts?
Just because you don't do click bait, I always choose your videos. Keep the good work.
This is great to hear, man. Thank you!

to control the slope all you need to do is hit option + shift on Mac or Alt + Shift On Windows and click on the band Its actually pretty easy
Thanks, it works! Bus still, mouse scroll for precise slope setting is really something. I wrote to FabFilter guys with this feature request :)
Mouse scroll + shift is the precise control
How do you get get spectral grabber like in q3?

Same feeling here :)
Dyn EQ part seems to be the most significant development. Thank you for review.
No probs!
You said Kirchhoff EQ has saturation but it does not. It only emulates the curves of the analog hardware.
i think i will stay with pro-q3 combined with smart eq4 and soothe2. nice review paul!
Same here, but... I upgraded anyway, because soothe2 can do only two seats at a time, our studio needs more :)
@ fair enough😁
I also switched out Pro Q 3 for Kirchoff, spent this morning clearing out my template and replacing it with Pro Q4.
Whoah. Good to hear!

I guess Toneboosters EQ Pro is the new cool kid on the block. Great price too. For now, I'm sticking with Pro Q4 + Split EQ.
Great Show Paul
Thanks, James, good to see you again!
What song is this? It goes hard! 🔥
Also, dope video
Guaau, genial revisión, muy a fondo y detalladas las funciones y prestaciones... de lujo! 👏👏👏👏
can you sidechain it to make the dynamic eq react to another instrument frequency?
Yes, you can!
Why should this replace my sonible smart EQ?
I think it shouldn't replace your SmartEQ. These features are absolutely awesome but if you have SmartEQ, I think you can hold it off a bit longer.
Which song is that?
Right after I bought Waves Equator to go with Smart EQ. Does this make them redundant?

This compared to Smart eq4?
Different beasts. SmartEQ4 is an AI driven, adaptive thing.

So, they borrowed from all the other great eqs a little, but nothing really well?
I also like kirchoff but darn think frezzes too much 🤷 and much cpu usage.
I don't know what your PC is, but Kirchhoff is seriously superlight on resources...
@FoliaSound Intel i9 13 gen 🤷 laptop
Hard to say what's up, but it definitely shouldn't be like that. Kirchhoff acts very stable and lightweight on each of my three studio machines.
@FoliaSound hmmm 🤔, I will see more into that then, thanks 👍
Laptop vs. Desktop. There is a whole universe between those CPUs. (And may be all the other hardware as well.)

True. Sorry to hear it's an issue for you...
Don't get the Fab Filter hype, Tokyo Dawn does pretty much the same but a lot more elegantly. 😎
I agree ☝️
