      A pity because the bike really does benefit from it. An incentive to sell it as an extra I suppose.

      NO CRUISE CONTROL in any BMW R18 First Edition, but YES with: Classic, Bagger and Transcontinental!

      @@stanleylawson9015 Unless you are doing a lot of straight boring motorways cruise is an unnecessary novelty in the UK (IMO). If you are doing lots of motorways in the UK there are much better bikes for that than an R18FE. My R18FE has no cruise and I don’t miss it at all. Ever.

    There's a rear preload adjustment. You have to remove the right cover aft of your leg. You'll need a six point 13mil socket; prob a deep version is better. I can't remember if the included tool will reach. At any rate; the manuel - yes, manuel - will tell you the rest.

      I just got a R18 and had the bobber seat added. I am only 5’5” so I sit right at the front of the seat but even for me it is so easy to handle. I absolutely love this bike.

    In the old days, our “fuel gauge” was when we lost power and had to reach down and turn a switch over to the reserve line…and life was just fine. Millennials. Sadly, we’re stuck living amongst all of you. smh. 😉

    Bought this last December 2021 after Harley tried ripping me off for a fatboy. I am so glad Harley did that... This bike is amazing. I have put over 3k miles and loved every single mile on it. The only con is the seat- a wooden stool is perhaps more comfortable. Yup absolutely butthurt over here.... And no fuel gauge but instead so dumb voltage info... It's berlin built... Go get one.

      Apparently in some parts of the world the first edition R18's didn't have cruise control available. We seem to have been the lucky ones here in SA that did receive it.

    • @tomislavstanich9379

      Germans are very precise, systematic and precise. It would be strange as you had been written about your luck to have cruise control built in and all the rest of us were lucking it, ... hhmmm?
      It reminds me on the BMW "gift box" to evwry BMW R18 new owner. Some owners got it, some did not?

      We are supplied the motorcycles sans instructions or manuals specifically to see how intuitive the machine is to figure out. Fortunately there's a large community of enthusiasts who are always happy to point out our mistakes & misgivings and are often quite forgiving should we get it wrong.

    • @StruddersMotorrad
      @StruddersMotorrad 2 года назад +2

      @@MotoTribeTV you would think they would at least let you flick through the manual! To be fair I was sent on a test ride with no instruction, as you say it’s only the finer details you need a manual for.

      Hi there! We only report on the motorcycle as we received it from the importers. If it was spec'd differently from original, we wouldn't know. But we're always happy to learn something new. Thanks for educating us about the First Edition. Take care - Josh
