Hi 👋🏿 I'd love to know what kind of varnish would suggest if you use air dry paints?? I don't feel comfortable buying heat set paints yet. I'm a little scared to use varnish, but I know it's important to do so. And I'm confused about when you would apply the varnish??
@@quaradee9957 hello!! Great questions. MacPherson’s Crafts sells air dry varnishes. The ones I’ve used are by Reborn FX and they work pretty good. I bought the matte and ultra matte versions. I just quickly brushed or pounced them on.
As for when to varnish, it is done when you are completely done with painting and you have allowed the air dry paints to fully cure. Be sure not to varnish the scalp of the doll unless you’ve painted the hair. The varnish will protect your doll from scratches and paint peeling or fading from use.
Varnish can wear down over time and will require touch ups. Feel free to ask any questions once you get the varnish.

I’m not in them, but I feel it can be a wealth of knowledge for a newbie for sure. However, I’m still here if you need me!
beautiful work! What colors did you use for the original golden brown base color?
Thank you so much!! Each base is different. For this one I relieve it was Genesis Flesh 02 and Genesis Orange washes.
