If you have walked a Camino before, what were some of your favourites?

Another great video Rob…..I certainly agree re: the Maseta. The ruins, towns and villages along its expanse were some of my most memorable places, I.e the ruins of the monastery of St. Anton, Castrojeriz and its incredible castle, views and food, and best of all, Carrion de los Condes…can’t imagine walking the Camino Frances and missing these highlights….will be walking again Sept of 23 and will be lingering at all three!

Very envious Mark. If you don't mind a bit of luxury and expense, take a look at this place in Carrion! ruclips.net/video/PlPZ7LCfDt4/видео.html

Thank you so much for posting this. It would be so helpful if you posted a map so that we can follow along with you as you talk about these places.

I'll certainly do that in future. Sadly if we add to the existing video, RUclips regards it as a new video, so we lose all the comments etc. (Basically you can't 'replace' a video). But Maybe I can add a link to a map or something to the comments or description of this video..

so many possibilities...but if I had to choose one, it would be watching my wife walk into Plaza Obradoiro, knowing how much of a challenge the walk had been for her...such a blessing, one we hope to duplicate in September...going back for another Frances...be well, Rob!

Oh Yes. That first time walking through the archway into the Plaza Obradoiro ! Definitely a memorable moment. Though tinged with sadness as it means the end.

Nice choices. What is it about the coffee? Much nicer than at home 🙂

I also liked the Meseta. This topic brings out the 800 pound gorilla in the room. There is no way to REALLY get across the experience of the Camino to another person. Not to say you shouldn't keep trying, but there is a big element of the old "trying to describe the color red to a person that has been blind from birth". Having said that, if someone watches 100 RUclips videos on it, they will have a "rough draft" (which will probably be completely re-written soon after they start walking with their own story).

Very true. Though I watched and read 'a lot' prior to my first Camino, and it was fairly close to what I expected.

I've just wrapped up my 2nd trip to the Camino, (I have to do it in stages for time constraints) from Logrono to Leon. My 1st trip was from SJPDP to Logrono and I would repeat that trip through Navarra over and over. The 2nd trip was far less enjoyable. The meseta was dull both the landscape and the weather, the town's just weren't as quaint as Navarra. I'll finish my Camino but from Sarria. I've seen enough of Rioja and Castilla Y Leon.

I left my Camino family in Burgos and walked on I found that section lonely in so many ways. Without the people I had met, less beauty in the landscape, I was finding few English speaking pilgrims and I didn’t find the locals as friendly. It was defiantly the “ the mental stage” for me. I loved the first section so much that my next walk will be sectional but if I don’t go back after lorgono I’ll be okay (I want to do the francagenia or none camino walk such as cotwolds next).

I guess different parts of the Camino appeal to different folks Jude . I just love it all 🙂

It takes all kinds I guess Linda. I love the isolation and a degree of loneliness. I 'think' and reflect more 🙂 One thing the Camino taught me, it to be happy with my own company.
