I grew up in a alcoholic home. I married an alcoholic. I have a fear of confronting my husband about his drinking.

That’s difficult (but not so unusual, to marry someone with familiar traits).
Maybe you can find an Al-Anon meeting near you, or online? Or Celebrate Recovery.
      I love Dr. Cloud’s show.

    Hello,
In a nut shell. Im 58, my husband 66. We’ve been married 10 years. We opened a business almost 6 years ago. During that first year I learned my husband was an alcoholic. Somewhat functional. We have a very demanding business. He shows up around lunch each day. Works the afternoon. The last few years he’s been going to eat out with his buddies most evenings and drinks and comes home anywhere between 9-10 pm.
Ive prayed, I’ve fasted, I’ve cried talked begged and bargained. But he says I do not understand.
I guess what I would like to know. Where and how do I draw boundaries and honor boundaries to see about what is probably one of the painful experiences I’ve been through? How do I cope and manage. I go back and forth between anger-to thinking I can live with this. To I can’t live this way. He knows these things. But it is of no concern to him. Where does someone draw the line. I’m just so hurt I can barely stand it.
