civic has no where near $15k in mods. it was budget built with some new and some used parts. turbo kit, fuel mods, tuning software....does not cost $15k

and u should try do a top speed vid. during that race u were in 6th goin bout 145-150? i have hondata and im not sure how to take out that top speed limiter. i can only max 5th den it wont let me pull

Here's a link to a si with what seems to be an indentical setup(same car??) running only 9.5psi because of boost leaks. I know the motor is strong enough, I just thought that the compression was prety high on these stock to run that kind of boost on pump gas. Not even a head gasket?
yea i hear the brz/fr-s are supposed to be some pretty nice cars..but launching one is the same as our si..gotta rev it up and drop the clutch for a good launch..not much low end toqure. maybe subie will give a turbo version..that be something to look forward to!
It's actually making 16 psi because of the full race turbo kit on it, idk how well he tuned that si but the full race turbo kit is probably the best turbo kit you can buy for a civic.

Anyway that civic is fast and that is the end of the story lol. I just ordered a bigger pulley and some tires so will probably try again and hopefully it will be a better race for me lol
well used parts will save you a lot of money.. I've been researching turbos quite a bit because I want one for my si, and on average (starting from a bone stock civic) people generally spend anywhere between 10-15k when all is said and done
@djoreyo It's a Honda against a Mercedes AMG, that's tuned, and considering that the Si's engine isn't built, i would say that it's quick. Respect for both cars.
Does this civic have stock internals? I got me a PRL kit with gtx3071r and I'm currently on e85 with my Kraftwerks kit. Gonna do the swap soon. But I'm shooting for 500whp for now and need to know if stock block can handle that safely for a while or not?
@talontsi97 real nice video, that SI is def fast,i doubted that at first but saw how fast ur spedo is climbing. I will say one thing about E55 as I have same car, for an AMG with pulley and tune that car is not pulling hard enough. I don't know if it has a cooling issue or what. The SI is defff FAST esp for weight wit that kind of power, but I know mine pulls harder than that. In that time (25 sec or so of acceleration) car should have been at ~160mph instead of u pullin away at 140
lol @ the people who don't understand why he's on the rev limiter for a second at the beginning of the pulls. What would you rather him do there? If he shifts, he bogs in the next gear. If he lets off to regain traction, he loses boost. He did everything right lol.

tuners set the vtec engagement to around 3800 on boosted cars. i only have full bolt ons and mine is set at 4000

I sold my benz to a friend he got few more mods so it can breeze properly can't wait to run the civic again
