Jazz diva returned to Russia after 20 years spent abroad

Fantine - Russian singer and songwriter with Dominican roots.
Fantine Maria Pritoula was born in the USSR. Her mother was from the Dominican Republic and came as a student to Moscow, where she fell in love with a Russian man - Fantine’s future father. After the USSR collapsed, the family moved to Australia for several years. Fantine spent most of her life abroad. She lived, studied, and performed in Australia and the USA. Since 2020, she lives in Moscow. In 2014, Fantine embarked on two Russian Jazz tours throughout the U.S. with the acclaimed Russian jazz saxophonist Igor Butman and his Moscow Jazz Orchestra. Since then, she works with them as a vocalist and has her own group called FANTINE.
