Gaynor are a thoughtful daughter making Mum her little cake both cakes look beautiful. I love your snuggle down cowls colour choices I’ve made 3 for gifts & 1 for myself (mine in sherry Iris wildflower collection from back in the summer) subtle shades it is so easy to wear ( I’m not a floof fan though I bought some ( used on gift cowls ) I like your tweeks on the pattern 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Good morning, I am loving the Vlogmas video's thank you for sharing. I am sure there will be others that agree, if a 15 min advert came on I would still watch it, or at least let it run as it is for a great cause. As you may remember I work for a charity that provides respite care for adults with a learning disabilities and we know how hard it is to raise money and every penny counts and is appreciated. very occasionally there are adverts run at the end of the vlog and I let them run as well in the hope that is another penny in the pot.
Lorraine McCormack You are so sweet! Thank you a million. Raising money is hard work, so for me having the adverts running makes it easier so it’s amazing there are people like you who are prepared to let them run xxx
A very interesting place that canteen is! The mannequin heads with the wigs were kinda scary. 😳. Your cakes looked amazing. I’m sure they tasted as good as they looked. 💕
I had the new Bond film trailer as an advert today, very good. Love home made marzipan, my Mum always made it, not sure you could buy ready made way back. Your cakes look great.
What are you rolling the marzipan out. In .I noticed something on the counter...lovely....I always bought a marzipan pig for my daughter at Christmas, and I cannot find one, so maybe I will make her a pig. Wish me luck.
What wonderful cakes!!!wow! What sweet cowls! So nice u gifted one to UR Friend! Are they Easy!.? Love the look,, What a lovely spot to meet ,,, Elaine 😄😍😍
Well done for no plastic. I've been living with no plastic for years, since I moved from London UK to central Italy ten years ago. I live off the grid on the mountains in a small house, grow my food, keep animals for milk, meat and eggs and I preserve all my foods. I've been watching some British crafty channels (as I miss home at this time of the year) and I was shocked at the moment of plastic and waste they generate!😖 also the exaggerated festivities in shops, supermarkets, homes is shocking to me😱 I guess living here isolated (I live alone) with no car, central heating (just my wood burning stove for heating and cooking), hot running water, etc made me unaware of what's going on in the world. Anyway, well done again, bravissima👍
Sue H Do you have a vlog or instagram? I would love love love to see how you go about your life. The plastic waste is one thing but the wastes of “energy” is something I’m beginning to get worried about now. I must start to improve our energy consumption.
@@talesfromcuckooland hi Gayna, I have instagram only as I don't gave internet at home and my ten years old Mac died last year! I use my mobile phone, as live alone far from the city, to post when I can due to very limited access to internet. I've just followed you on insta and sent you a message 😳😽
The snuggle down cowl is it a no fuss pattern ? Looks very pretty but I don’t care for patterns I have to keep a pattern to look at while I knit . Is it for fingering weight yarn ? Thank you
It’s very no fuss. You hardly need to refer to the pattern at all. It’s for fingering and fluffy lace weight or dk. It’s such a popular pattern for good reason. Go for it!
Tales from Cuckoo Land thank you sweetie i will. I know right off i would have to make it larger is circumference . You said i think in your podcast adding 40 stitches . How many stitches could i add to make mine larger? I’m a big girl and i always have make scarves, cowl etc larger than normal. You and your mum are beautiful friends together. She’s a sweet lady , wonderful you and her can have fun together .
Angela Mills ah, I added 40 stitches when I knitted it in fingering on a smaller needle. If you use a DK equivalent you’d not need that much, maybe just 10 more stitches.
Tales from Cuckoo Land i would use fingering weight . Thank you for your help I appreciate it more than you know. When using fingering do you use recommended needle size? I apologize for all the questions.
Teresa Young never watch anything longer than a minute. The long adverts wouldn’t be allowed, I don’t agree with them. Lately I have started to use the nonskippable feature so that adverts are 20 seconds maximum. Thank you for refreshing and sticking with me. I really am grateful x
I was always worried as a kid that I would do like my mom and open my mouth in the most unattractive way when concentrated, a tounge poking out has nothing on that 🙈

I really need to learn how to do Christmas cakes, because those looked delightful!!

Ruth Raven I dusted the worktop with icing sugar to stop it from sticking x

Eric Allerton Very easy! Give it a go.
Top tip for leftover marzipan - stuff dates with it and cover in melted dark chocolate. Absolutely delicious 😋
Your Mums cake is so cute, I used to bake a small cake for one of our aunties and bake it in a small baked bean tin
Julia Droy what a good idea
Another great episode. Merry christmas to all.🎁🎄
Never mind the bread you’ve out done yourself with home made marzipan 😮😁 thanks for sharing x
Just opened the tin and it smells amazing. Can’t wait to eat it! Thank you love it.
Lavenderlacelady Lavenderlacelady you’re welcome, Mum xxx

It looks “pedestrian”!?! No idea what that means but I can tell you the cakes looked lovely 😋. Amazing cafe/canteen with those bonkers barbies 🤣
Oh, the little cake is beautiful

Some whacky decorations in that restaurant!
How sweet of you to make your mum a cake.
💖
Didn't see any adverts with this video
Lol 15min is long. I actually got a 45min mini movie thingy. I refreshed and got something else.

No worries Gayna. I love your vlogs. They bring a lot of joy in these sad times.
