I just played evolve stage 2 and used this goliath and GOT to stage 3 and destroyed the power plant I was a tank aka a living shield and the map had meteors shooting at me
While I don't play evolve, I do enjoy your videos and I want to pose a question... Would starting with all four monster abilities at level 1 not be more DPS than two level 1s and a 2? Consider how often you've used an ability to close distance or do damage or hinder an opponent just because all the others were still cooling down.

No it was a good decision. One of the major faults and reasons of criticism of the original game was that since only the Trapper could dome the Monster, games often played like Running Simulator 2015, with the Monster often being able to avoid all conflict till Stage 3, leading to a lot of boring matches. Now that everyone can dome the Monster the game is more fun and the Trapper still retains his role of finding the Monster (having an additional tool to do it, the Planet Scan) out of the dome and restricting its movement in the dome.

It's not pointless. Many pros use it after the Trapper uses his scan. They head to a certain direction while it's active, and when its cool down begins, they sneak to the opposite direction, effectively juking the hunters. You can't do it without sneaking cause the hunters will hear your steps so sneaking is essential for that tactic to work. Sneaking still has its role, you just have to be smart as to when to use it.

Well.... Sure thing. Monster tips. With monster, find a preferred monster. If you don't have one, just go with Goliath. He's a good all-round character. So at stage 1, put all 4 points into all four abilities. Next, find a favorite ability and a least favorite ability. When you get to stage 2, you should have 3 points into your fav and keep one point in your least favorite ability. Okay so now for playing a round.
On the run: Always use your traversal(space bar) as often as possible. You want to keep as far from the hunters as possible. Don't be afraid to use your abilities to kill wildlife. It's much quicker than using basic attacks. Always spam smell. It's at no cost and it works great. Be sure to press tab to check the Minimap and plan your route. You don't want to get cornered. You don't want to get cornered.
Pre-fight: Sometimes, you might have trouble getting away from the hunters. If so, then your best bet is to pick where to fight. Most monsters tend to do well in enclosed places like buildings and caves. This makes your abilities to be harder to dodge. Whereas monsters like Behemoth struggles in places with uneven terrain as he can't climb quickly. Kraken's strength lies in his ability to fly which makes him hard to hit. So kraken is the only monster who struggles in a cave.
During the fight: The best way to beat the hunters is to understand who you are fighting against and fight accordingly. At the start of a match, usually go for the medic first. Obviously. But if the Support is Hank, you should target him first as his shield generator is more annoying than a medic's heals. Next, try to isolate a single Hunter. Pick a Hunter, usually a medic and focus him. Unless another Hunter like trapper or support has less than 50% hp, then go for them instead. So most medics are effective when they are in line of sight of their teammate. So when focusing a Hunter, try to push him up against a wall or corner. Once you bring him down, do NOT camp the body. If it's the medic down, no one will be reviving him soon. Also, staying in a general area will allow an assault like Hyde or Torvald to deal tons of damage. So this is where you go for someone else. The general targeting cycle is medic, trapper/support, assault.
While you are focusing another Hunter, be sure to check to make sure no one is reviving that medic, if you do, send an ability their way to stop the process. Note: abilities like fire breath and death spiral will not stop a Hunter from doing a revive.
