Hello! Thank you for lessons, it is what make this world better! Could you please tell why don't you pronounce 'poireau' as 'pwaro'? It has raised some discussion on Reddit already.
I just looked it up and I might be totally wrong at pronouncing it like that? I am confused but I have never heard Pwaro. When I look at the IPA it's supposed to be PWARO 😱
@@TheperfectfrenchwithDylane It looks like an exception based on the original Latin form. From the same discussion on Reddit: "The original pronunciation was porreau /pɔʀo/ from Latin porrellum, but in French the word was (probably) influenced by poire and became poireau /pwaʀo/". That is interesting, thank you for the answer! Here: www.reddit.com/r/French/comments/n21dtj/pronunciation_of_poireau/

Let me know how you did on the quizz!
I got 4/20 with the proper spelling and a few others I got but misspelled. I am happy to learn new vocabulary. Merci beaucoup.
Not bad for a quick lesson, spelling is hard so 4 with proper spelling is pretty good if it’s the first time you learn this vocabulary 🙂
@@TheperfectfrenchwithDylane thank you! I knew some of the words but many of them were new to me. 😊
