    Hi Richard, what I've done every other time I've had to re hemp the blowpipe joint (gets rotted). After it's stripped a take a full Lenth ( 6” piece) of 600 grit sandpaper on its back on the kitchen counter ( I’m sure my wife is not thrilled about this but it’s a long flat surface) and CAREFULLY run the flapper seat across the sandpaper , ensuring ever so much to keep it square and flush. This creates a clean FLAT surface for the flapper. Also, I don’t like the white vinyl flappers, not enough ummpph to them IMO. I use the rubber orange flappers

    This saves my butt, tysm!! I'm supposed to bring my pipes (medieval style bagpipes for my uni's Collegium Musicum) home to practice over winter break and the one-way valve stopped working this morning; now I'll have a way to practice until I'm back in school to get a new valve. Thanks again!! 💜
