Oh and BTW… I have tried everything to help with my Parkinson’s disease, including Deep Brain Stimulator surgery, but the thing that helps me the most is riding!!! I have moments riding when I can’t feel my PD at all and I tell myself I’m going to get off my bike and walk without limping, but I always limp pretty bad. Incredibly thankful for the good moments riding and focusing on the positive things in my life. If I didn’t know better I would say that there’s absolutely no way I could ride a motorcycle, but I am thankful that I can ride like I always have. My neurologist is very fascinated, but not surprised at all because they are realizing that some people who have done things like motorcycling, professional dancers, boxing (speed bags) can do the things that they like they used to. Cycling definitely triggers something very positive in my brain and I’m still enjoying life. Ride on!!
there is a spice called Turmeric. You might want to look into it's supposed to help with those symptoms. But be careful and do your homework before you start taking it because there are some strong side effects. If you take too much. I hope that will help there are other plants that will also help. But like I said, do your homework regarding that and other ones.
I was delivering in el campo yesterday, and the feels like temp was 113.... god knows how hot that truck was.. as it actually felt nice outside... i cant wait to leave fedex.
I like your attitude on life. I’m 60 years old and have been riding for 53 years now and have logged over a million miles. I was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease 12 years ago, but thankfully it hitting my left foot the hardest. Now I’m mostly riding my Honda NC700X DCT and after watching your Cannonball scooter videos I decided to add a ADV 160 to the stable. I had no idea that I would enjoy riding a scooter so much!!! You are right about focusing on the positive things in your life!!! I can’t remember if it was this video or a different one that you said something to that effect. I have watched and enjoyed 4 of your videos today. Stay safe and ride on!!
Thanks for watching and leaving feedback! Sorry to hear about your struggles with Parkinson's... that's rough. Scooters and small-bore bikes are more fun for me these days. I've done all the crazy go-fast stuff for decades, and now I'd rather slow down to enjoy the scenery instead of rushing through it. The adventure is in the journey, not in reaching the destination (we already know where that leads). Cheers! 😉👍 --QM
Last year, I rode without gear due to heat. After you were hit by that Jeep, I decided I gotta wear gear. To combat the heat, I bought a white jacket. Not a popular decision, but I can tolerate the heat a little better.
Wow! What a coincidence, I own a Mazda 3 as well and just recently replaced the coolant manifold too. Also replaced both temp sensors. My A/C stopped working (in the heat of summer 🫠) so that’s the next on the list 🙌😮💨
So I have Michelin tires on my super cub, and I noticed that the rear wears out in like 3000 miles instead of 4000 miles but I think that’s because the rubber is a little softer and from my experience they grip pretty good they have never had a problem with grip in the rain or during normal writing of course they had trouble with grip in the ice and snow, but I don’t think that’s the tires fall. Any tires gonna have a problem so I like them. And even though they don’t get quite as many miles, I’m good with it because I want extra rip for extra safety. And the tires are a little bit wider than the ones that came on the cub but they fit on the rim just fine
Thanks for watching, Paul! I'll have a few more commute vlogs coming out soon. I've been wrenching on my long-neglected Honda Silverwing scooter lately, so that project will hopefully be finished and published in a couple of weeks. Cheers! 😉👍 --QM
It's still cool seeing you riding around my old and current stomping grounds. Used to go to Taylor High school and I now live in Cinco Ranch which is just down the road.
@@QuasiMotard At the moment I'm without a two wheeler. Although I do have my 1000 Polaris SxS. I'd be more than happy to meet up with some locals for a BS session and a few beers. I've had many two wheelers the last one being an FZ750.
Howdy, Corne! I've been wrenching on the Silverwing over the past few days, so that project should (hopefully) be finished soon! I'll probably dump a few "raw" videos of that project on my @QuasiRAW channel, then work on the curated version in a few weeks. I'm hoping to have the Silverwing back on the road for a trip to Eureka Springs, Arkansas, this coming weekend (Sep 6-9). 🤞😉👍 --QM
Hi Quasi There actually is a Bible verse that supports what you are saying. Heaven helps those who help themselves! . It's not about believing things will happen it's knowing they will and it's only a matter of when they will happen. As for the Silver Wing. I am looking forward to see you ride that bike. There are three bikes I like the look of the Bergman 650, then the Silver Wing and I'm starting to really like the PCX 150. some others I'm not sure about but they're interesting. I have heard from different people that have City Grip 2 tires. They are one of the best all-around tires good in the rain and in the snow and even off-road for the price. Wasn't sure what they meant by for the price but I understand they're great tires. Once you are using them, everyone will know whether they are good or not. Glad Things Are Starting to Work out! take care and ride safe John
Really curious to see how the city grips handle the weight of the Silver Wing. Planning to put them on my Zontes 350E when it wears out it's stock tires. I've had very good experience with them on my Symphony but that's half the weight half the size.
@RideWithAlex I'm also curious to see how the City Grips will do on the SilverWing. I'm already noticing a lot of tread noise and whine at highway speeds, so that's new in comparison to my PCX with the same tires (in smaller sizes, of course). The CG's have worn extremely well on the PCX... 6K+ miles, and they still look and ride like new. The SilverWing is a heavy beast, so we'll see how the tread compound holds up under 2X the weight and 4X the power! 😉👍 --QM
Heya Quasi, Was wondering if you got to check out the Freedom 150 scooters? They are located here in Oklahoma, and they have a dealer in Katy, TX, I believe. If they turn out pretty good, I may use one of their Storm150 scoots for the scooter cannonball.
I haven't investigated those in-depth yet, but Kevin started that ball rolling before the 2023 Cannonball. He talked to them first, and he wanted me to reach out to see if we could arrange some demo rides. I'll see if I can follow up on that idea sometime soon! 😉👍 --QM
Yeah, I was wondering how you made out with that coolant leak, but there is a reason why the engineers decided to use plastic it’s cheaper and they don’t care because they don’t have to work on them. Some parts should absolutely be made of metal and this is one of them, but the car company are like totally use plastic. It will be fine. It will totally last the amount of the warranty most of the time, we don’t care if our customers get stranded when their cars get higher mileage on them that’s fine. Another video once they did it like a gas line and I guess it went like around the top of the back of the engine and I’m like oh yeah that’s such a great ideaabout the rest of the world, but I would be OK with paying a little bit more money to get a freaking metal part where you should have a metal part. And as far as the flash that you were talking about on the Honda rebel 1100 like as far as I’m concerned, that’s how it should come from the factory a vehicle should come from the factory in my opinion being able to use 100% of the power I mean, why not why would you limit that I mean the less they’re going for maybe the vehicle lasting longer but I feel like I should have to make that decision if I need or want 100% of the power I should be able to have it and use it so yeah I would definitely flash that but I was considering maybe the rebel 300 but then I was looking at the dual sport And I was thinking the rally might be better because it would be more capable in on off-road situations but I sure have to use my current and that is going to be quite a while so it’s wishful thinking I can only have one motorcycle at a time because of space, but that’s OK
Aw man, I'd like to rant a bit. From India, Web development, working in one of the tax preparation software for US. Looks like Mr.Quasi is working in Network/Hardware department. Before all that, first need to own a house, been living in rental entire life. Would love to move to America legally and make some good money. But scared of 2 things, 1. The companies are firing left and right there to open MNCs here (as outsourcing saves them tons of money and overtime is normal here with no pay and no questions asked) 2. Scared that I might be considered as an illegal and something bad could happen. Though as advised I want to take action than just praying, yet mind's still cat on the wall.

The weird power/torque curve is probably due to the EPA compliance. FortNine did a video on that a few months ago
