This is the exact model we’re fixing up right now! It goes in for paint work next week and should be on the market by mid December. They’re great for average height people. At 6’4” I have to duck to get around, especially from the kitchen to the bathroom. That’s their only downside as far as I can tell. They’re built like tanks, and are high quality through and through.
James, I have a 2002 Monaco Signature Series with the same Zip Dee Awning. It is known by several names, Evolution and AutoAwn. After looking at several options, I decided to stick with the AutoAwn and found “the guy” at Zip Dee. His name is Jimmy. He is the MOST helpful individual I have EVER encountered in the RV industry. He will have your solution.
I’m so glad I own a boat in Florida instead of a motorhome. Boats are much simpler and offer pure enjoyment. But these motorhomes are packed with endless gadgets and parts that can break. Holy hell!
Jim you should've pointed out the radius corners of the slides = NO cracks like on sharp 90-degree corners. A sign of quality & intelligence in design. If I ever decide on another Country coach, I'd it'd be on a Fortravel.
Thank you for mentioning the bulkhead separation issue on the Foretravels. Do you remember the years that were affected? We own a Newell with the same HWH slide seals but being in Alaska I am always worried that the rubber will freeze and rip in the colder weather, requiring a seal replacment. Do you have any expirence with these slides in cold weather regions?
Nice job. I love Fortravel, but no loans on this baby; it is all cash. When I look at older coaches, I look at Nationals for a lot less. It's still a good build with the all-steel structure. PS I loved the video on the 32' Allure, the perfect size to travel the country and be able to get into a lot of state parks.
Actually, the slide-out coffee tray needs to be operated with care, as the locking clip that engages with the metal lever bar easily brakes, in particular at that age. As one can't buy the part anymore (as far as I know) one needs to make the part DIY. Had to fix this on my u270.
I'd be happy to run it from Arizona to Kentucky for Doug if he gets me to and from the necessary places lol. I guess it doesn't help that I'm in Houston though...
@Michael.of.Barrett It can be. You have to baby them a lot on the older coaches. I installed a vacuum pump on both slide gaskets to ensure they lay completely flat when the slide operates. When the slides are older they tend to move a bit in the box, reducing clearance unless you regularly check and adjust them. Many issues around these HWH slide seals revolve around the slide catching the gasket and ripping it, or the system malfunctions failing to deinflate the slide seal before the slide operates.
I have a ? I have a stereo and tuner system they both use the same speakers but there is a switch to go between them both. On the stereo all speakers work on the tuner the sub woofer doesn’t get power. Do you know how to get power to the subwoofer from an upgraded tuner that now need the sub to be a plug in to 110v .
@@AZExpert I only noticed it because when I fixed on my 2001 Foretravel u270 I purchased a new door bell button that just clips on the existing fixture.
Pay close attention to the Danfoss Fan controller, they're notorious for malfunctions. Just unplug the dam thing and it defaults to high capacity and be done with it. Don't waste $1200 on a new controller, they're problematic. Been running mine on high for 4 years, no problems. If it has the Racor water seperator, by pass it and run a water seperator main filter or change it out to a new different brand water seperator. Most parts for the seperator are no longer available.( Racor bought out by Parker) I've got a brand new Davco sitting in a box since my Racor failed on a trip. Never put it in , also fine without for 4 years.
Our coach could use a similar front door restraint... Can anyone provide information, like correct nomenclature, part number, availability, etc.? Thank you!
dont buy one of these without a certified PPI on the drivetrain and suspension, the airbags are not holding air as you can see it sits low..axles, bearings steering all need inspection by a reliable inspector
Just needs new flooring, carpet all be gone! 🪄 n will look marvellous. But that barf reflex really kicks in when i see wall to wall carpet around a toilet, lol, it's such a 1970's eww thing! 🤢. 🍻

I'm sold, it has a VCR!!!
Living full-time in our 1999 Monaco Diplomat for the last year, and loving it!🔥

James,

I have rebuilt a few of them, but it was not a cheap venture, but that's great information to share.
I’m so glad I own a boat in Florida instead of a motorhome. Boats are much simpler and offer pure enjoyment. But these motorhomes are packed with endless gadgets and parts that can break. Holy hell!
Bust out another thousand seriously would never own a boat ever again😂😂
Wow that's a beautiful RV enjoy your vacation

Dang, James that's gorgeous. Just what did you have to fix?

Enjoy your well-earned vacation!
Tell Doug I can drive it back for him. Just need to fly me from Oregon to grab it. Class A CDL driver and a Country Coach owner.
Nice RV. Great price
James, if I had the money I would make an offer.
Beautiful RV

James thanks for sharing your thoughts on this good looking Foretravel.
James what is up with the California tailpipe rule???
For the age, it’s a great RV.
Price to change awning to a manual awning?
What is the asking price
James, YOU are -AMAZING!
Pretty sure that Cummins ISM11 was rated at 500hp in 2002. Nice Foretravel!
Ism 11 500 HP absolutely. I've got a single axle U320 , same exact engine set back to 450 HP.
One of the best RV engines
At 32:18 and following, is this the ”bulkhead problem” I’ve heard about?
I'd be happy to run it from Arizona to Kentucky for Doug if he gets me to and from the necessary places lol. I guess it doesn't help that I'm in Houston though...
Thanks for the video.
Nice coach 👍🏼
So those air seals for the slideouts - how long do those last? Are they a pain to replace?
They typically last 10 years, and yes, they are a pain to replace. The slide has to come out to replace the gasket. About 5k for a shop to perform.
@@jessewhite2593 Ty for the info. Pulling the whole slide out for a repair - wow - that's a lot of work.

A lot of pre 2010 DP's are being sold out of CA.
FYI. One big sink is more useful in a motorhome. That split sink is worthless for washing dishes. I don’t I use the dishwasher in my Bus.

The outside door bell button is missing.
it's in the drawer in the dash

I would buy it. But I’m in Sacramento! lol

I'm right up the road if you need a driver.
That roof has lots of room for solar
Looks like Cherry as far as wood species.
Need a driver? Open for whatever wherever.

Zero ac/ USB outlets
99 k way to much!!! Tires r junk
