Hey Mike, this is an awesome dashboard. I am also creating a dashboard for myself. It has filters to get intent-based KWs, Long tail KWs, and more! I liked the way QUERIES sort as per impression and average position range. I tried to replicate it in my dashboard however it didn't work and got a looker studio error. I also tried creating blended data to get IMPRESSION as a dimension and that does not work either. Can you please tell me where I am missing out?
When you select to make a copy, you will have the option to change the data sources. Match them up with the Google sample data sources being used, but your versions. Universal Analytics, Google Search Console (url), etc.
Just found your informative video which I need it exactly recently ! However, I follow your template and make my own join table and I face 2 problems: 1. the metrics URL CTR and Average Position cannot be aggregated automatically but sum up. 2. the date cannot be shown correctly. (I tried YEAR MONTH, MONTH, Date and all of them just show a series of numbers). Any suggestion to solve them please?
1. I can't help you there. CTR and Average position are not something I would ever want to aggregate, so I have never tried. They are only useful metrics when you look at them in regards to an individual search query. Across a whole site or even a single URL, CTR and average position are utterly useless metrics. CTR doesn't matter because it is going to vary wildly based on the ranking of a search query. A query at position 2 is going to have a much different CTR than a query ranking in the 30s. Average position does not help across the site or a URL because it factors in a lot of unrelated terms that most pages will show up for ranking in the 80s, 90s, etc. 2. The date shows in the dropdown menu at the top. Not sure where else you would want the date to appear. It doesn't need to show up in the table. It really wouldn't make much sense there. I suppose you could move the dropdown selection from the top to somewhere just above the chart if you want it shown down there. Hope that helps.
And if you don't want to take my advice and absolutely want to see an aggregated CTR and Avg Position number, then you want to use a Scorecard outside of the chart instead.
@@TheSEOPub But how could the metrics "CTR" and "Avg. Pos." in your table from the video being aggregated and calculated correctly? Mines just tourns out to be SUM.
@@perfectkevin Oh, you are trying to recreate this? You know you can just make your own copy and use it, right? If you are trying to recreate it, the data source has to be using blended data from Search Console (Site) and Search Console (URL). If you only use one of those, it will not work.
@@TheSEOPub What frustrates me is I do follow your tutorial, like blended data by left join (one is SITE and other is URL), and I can complete almost the same result like yours but the CTR and Avg. Position metrics as well as date format do not work..... Would you mind leave your work email so i can make screen shot or video to you? Appreciate it :)
Super! Many thanks, Mike! I've been looking for it so long~

I would say copy the blended data exactly as I have it. Copy the whole chart over if you have to.
Mine says URL Clicks, is there a difference between them?
I'm not sure what you mean. Your what? One you are creating yourself? The copy you made of this one?
@@TheSEOPub I am so sorry, I am trying to recreate this by myself. =) but mine says Click url.
@@TheSEOPub Do you have a video on where I can do this step by step? =)
@@therearenonamesleft_ Ok. Yeah that would be the same thing. I just renamed it to 'Clicks' to make it smaller on the chart.
@@therearenonamesleft_ I don't have any tutorials on Google Data Studio at this time.
Anyone know how to select your site with the other free template given in today's email?
