For those talking about the lag, he said that it only occured when setting up the phone, otherwise he didn't experience any when actually using the watch normally. Excited for this since I'm guessing this is gonna be the pre order/purchase gift for when I *might* upgrade to a P40.

I like the 2 weeks of battery life, but the lagginess would kill any interest in this watch. They have to work that out.
There is no lag. Watch is great. Its a watch for sport and active users. If you need to answer calls or answer messages - go for samsung. Most people do not need this crap on a watch.
They have fixed that lag.
The lag is none, battery life excellent, all over excellent watch and cost just a little bit more than bloody Apple Air pods Pro !

All those watch faces and most of those features can come to the watch ht through a simple update
There is only one major flaw about this watch (that is if you do not use watch for call and message answering - why would you complicate your life with that?): Huawei does not support Strava. Everything else is just great. I charge my GT once a month. It supports up to 22 hours in GPS mode (the old watch) or up to 30 hours (GT 2). This is mind blowing result.

Huawei GT I am using since 4 months. Got two times software updates. One for AOD and dual time zone. 2nd time for stress. All updates are very useful. I keep AOD on from 10 to 16 hours. My battery life 10days after 50 min workout on daily basis. Very accurate HR , Step dount and true sleep data. I used Amazfit GTR for 15 days and sold it. Huawei GT is far far better then amazfit GTR as a true fitness tracker except custom watch faces in India. Watch faces on GT are not allowing custom faces in India. I do not know why? Huawei do not have cloud base services in India for custom watch faces which is big draw back!. But GT has 12 watch faces on GT. Huawei should be very fair while doing business in India. Otherwise as there in no lag in GT and very fluid touch screen but Amazfit GTR is not smooth software and big problem while pairing the watch and does not smooth. I love huawei GT and GT 2 may be better than GT. We need to see the price tag GT 2
No worries for watch faces as there is actually no storage to download them on a watch. You need to stick with the ones installed. This no big deal as samsung users download 200 watch faces but at the end they use no more then 2. There is one major drawback relating to sport: huawei does not support Strava. Major flaw for bikers. Maybe this will change in future.

The quality of the uploads at android authority has not been getting better to say the least

Mine basically uses 10 to 15% battery per day depending on amount of use. And I've everything turned on. I've not come across lag. The watch is on me at least 22/7. I lost 30ish lbs this year through diet, now just starting the exercise lifestyle so I want to track fitness 😃
can we use this watch to make contactless payments? NFC?
Everyone who is reviewing or planning to buy this watch, please note that the Stress level test does not work on IOS app of Huawei Health. I have learnt it the hard way, and waiting for Huawei to get back to me about returning the watch.
I have the old watch GT. Practically same watch apart from Bluetooth 5 and storage... Great watch by the way. While samsung active and apple watch owners charge their watches every 2-3 days, I can easily charge my watch every 10-20 days, depending on usage.
This device is not laggy in fact i think it's a lot more responsive than my previous galaxy watch plus a lot lighter and much nicer to wear everyday the battery is phenomenal and actually does last 2 weeks quite easily with constant heart rate, fitness tracking and bluetooth on. In my opinion the best watch on the market and the price is excellent.
Does this watch have the "Always ON Display" feature at full brightness?
Good review! 2 major questions:
1. Does it support quick replies allready? sending text messages etc
2. How does messages notifications forim all apps including whats app looks like?
last good watch of huawei was the huawei watch 2 sport LTE. I`m still using it. It has all apps you need on a watch, you make calls with it, water resistant, GPS, Wi-Fi etc.
What about baterry life? That's the most important thing for me. I don't want to charge my watch every day
@@ov1lord Hey! I just came home after work. I charged the watch up to 100 % at 8 am. Now it shows me 64% left. But in my case, I charge it every morning when I wake up cause I use the watches vibration alarm clock. For the night, I usually set it to airplane mode and battery saving mode cause I don't need the always on screen to stay on at night. But the sleep tracking stays on. So, I wake up, plug it in to charge and go to shower and have breakfast. Then I use it all day at work. Hope this info is helpful. Greetings from Russia!
42 mm version doesn’t have speaker and microphone. Only 46 mm
The stress test and upload music its doesn’t show on huawei health,I’m using iphone 6s. any other way or apps to use this watch feature. please advise

I had pebble time and amazfit pace and this looks very smooth to me.
I don't think it is a smart watch because it can't install new apps. It is just a fitness band disguised as a watch.
And not a very good fitness band either. Huawei Health does not integrate with anything, Strava for example.

I charge my Huawei Watch GT once a month. But is getting better: I can use GT in GPS mode for 22 hours!!! The new version can last up to 30 hours. That is on pair with Garmin Fenix watches that cost 800 eur.

Had the watch GT, very poor support and software updates from Huawei, have since jumped to Amazfit GTR which apparently has longer battery... Am surprised Huawei did not go with Harmony OS for this watch...
Do let me know how the GTR is holding up in day-to-day usage.

@@hammadwr good watch the G2 fantastic battery life. However, I hated the Huawei P40 Pro+ phone, so sold on and sold the watch as it won’t work fully with the iPhones. If you’re sticking with Android, I highly recommend it, but I’m on Apple Watch 6 now. 👍🏻

People mainly buy a smartwatch for those reasons, not just for telling time.
Hey I recently bought huawei gt 2 but when I try to play music it says it needs bluetooth earpiece and I can't make calls. Like there isn't any call log option. Neither can I accept calls. I can only reject them. Pls help

There is no app store.
Nearly all Android phone company have their own app store, Huawei is of no exception but its app store don't provide Google apps directly. I don't know how Huawei will deal with it if the ban continues. But my Meizu phone provide offcial app for constructing GMS structure and installing Google Play (All the process is automatically complete)
Even 2 tier company can do this , there should be no problem for Huawei to do the same thing(technically speaking)

Yeah standard for a smart watch is/was 512mb ram. Some newer watches have 1gb ram , so I'm guessing it's just a mistake in the video
Yes it's true. It runs a much lighter OS than something like Wear OS
Alberto Goșea The reason is it’s not a real smart watch like Galaxy watch or Apple Watch. GT is a sports watch designed like a smart watch, you can’t install apps and run it standalone. So it doesn’t require a lot of RAM resources to run.

It syncs using Huawei Health so expect the same old issues the GT had meaning, Double step count from watch and phone, No BMR, No Strava, Myfitnesspal export doesn't work, Google Fit Export doesn't work. So again looks like a fitness watch but at the core its not good enough to be a fitness watch.

Its a genuine leather on top and silicon below. This strap comes with silver watch. For running purposes just buy another strap. I use one from samsung.

I have the Huawei band 3 pro and it lags so much when there's alot of notifications...I think Huawei better off selling their smartphone than creating some lagging watch and band

It is 46mm in the video. The 42mm version is border-less.

Looks like this watch (like the Watch Gt ) also does not have 3-rd party integration (i.e. Starva etc.) as it uses the same Huawei Health app. If you use Strava or sync your activities to 3-rd party services stay away, at least until this issue is resolved, if ever. There is a ongoing petition www.ipetitions.com/petition/huawei-please-add-gpxtcx-export-and-sync-to to add at least gpx export. I think this watch more to fitness tracker rather than smart watch..
Same problem like last model: incredible lag. Nowadays lag is something I can't get past.
The first update resolved the lag. I've seen no lag since in the year I've had the GT 1
