Chinese Style Sweet n Sour Chicken Recipe:
Chop up 2 big boneless chicken breast into thick square and rectangular shaped cubes
Place 1 cup of flour into a mixing bowl. Season with 2-3 tsps salt, 1 tsp garlic powder and black pepper.
Add about 1 cup of water and whisk
Add 1 tsp of soy sauce and chicken cubes to batter
Stir chicken cubes into batter and allow them to sit
Chop up 1 small onion, 1/4 red and green bell peppers into large square shaped pieces as shown in video
Cut 1 pineapple up into small pieces
Place wok over high heat... add tbs of 2 tbs oil to wok.... and add vegetables and cook for 1 minute then sit aside in a bowl
To a bowl add lots of flour, about 2 cups
Drop chicken cubes into the flour and coat again,
Add 2 cups of oil to wok and place over medium high heat...once the oil is hot after 2 minutes.... shake off excess flour from each chicken cube then add to hot oil and fry them for 7-8 minutes or until golden brown and crunchy. Fry a small amount of chicken at a time....
Once chicken done sit aside on a paper toweled plate
    SWEET N SOUR SAUCE
Stir together 1/4 cup of water and 1 tbs of cornstarch to create a slurry
Add 1/3 cup of apple cider vinegar to a pot along with 10 tbs of pineapple juice, 2 tbs ketchup, 1/2 cup of brown sugar and 1/2 tsp of salt
Turn fire onto low heat... once come to a boil add slurry... and cook until thickens about 45 secs
Make sure not to let sauce become to thick, cut fire off before it gets too thick
Place fried chicken and vegetables back into wok.... coat with sweet and sour sauce, make sure not to toss too vigorously... be gentle.
    Serve with rice

I'm older now and alway loved Chinese food. This video really took me step by step to make the best sweet & sour chicken without having to go out and spend a fortune on take-out. I watched the entire video& now feel confident to cook this myself. He really does a fine job & I tried it and it does taste like the 'best sweet & sour chicken' I've tasted. I'm now a subscriber. He's terrific.

It takes like I went to a restaurant!! The chicken before the sauce was even AMAZING. You're the best in my opinion, because you allow everyone to learn with great detail. Also you have a recipe for literally everything I can think of. I'm glad I came across this; finding good food during my pregnancy is easy, because it comes right out of my kitchen. Thank you so much!!

Hey guys I just made this dish and it's delicious. I had to double the sauce because i made more chicken and i mixed my flour with cornstarch to make it have a light and crunchy texture, but overall it's a good recipe. My son is enjoying it. "Pregnant Chronicles" lol. I'll probably try another one of his recipes tomorrow.

I love it when people who make daft stupid and often hurtful comments get a good slapping down, its so simple if you don't like something someone has uploaded DON'T watch it, or before you make negative comments show us all how you do it better....
I've only just watched this video from PbjShow and I thought it was good to watch very clear to understand and follow, he obviously has a great love for food and presenting it nicely on the plate, I know for a fact that I'd sooner hang out with this guy rather you people that just criticise everything everyone does. "Now that's out the way....."
Darn good show I'm gonna give that one a go because this guy who has taken the time and effort to do this video has shown me a different way of doing a family favourite dish, so many thanks Pbj...I'm off to watch some more of your videos.......Cheers for now

I don't use flour when frying chicken for Asian dishes. I use spices and cornstarch; in authentic Asian cooking they use either potato starch or corn starch. It makes the chicken way crunchier than flour; and so your chicken doesn't become soft after applying the sauce. (and before anyone has anything smart to say, look up youtube cooks like Maangchi, she is Korean. That's where I got the method from) But im definitely using that sweet and sour sauce recipe.

I actually enjoyed listening to his commentary and the way he pronounced some words. The "stuff" you removed from the onion is called the skin. I make my chicken the same way to make Hong Shel Gai only slice it in longer pieces on a slant. I spent years (in the 1980's before you could buy all these pre-made batters in packages) trying to make the puffy batter usually used in the dish but came up with this method and use this type instead. As you show, it can be used for Sweet and Sour Chicken too. It's delicious and actually better than the puffy batter type of chicken (less gooey and more chicken flavor). Good cooking video and l love to see men get into cooking.
