You actually missed another tooth at 9:46 ... another goblin I think directly to right of your friend's hand! Looks like it was leaning against another rock. The river is absolutely chock full of shark teeth.
Nice vid! Early in the vid you ID'd a tooth as being a Striatolamia tooth. Not possible in Cretaceous deposits. I have collected many Striatolamia teeth in NJ Cenozoic deposits. Your tooth is simply a very striated Scapanorhyncus ( goblin) tooth.
Thank you very much D, Yes, it turns out many of those finds were Goblins. Thank you for watching! There will be a new fossil video this week. Cheers, Chris
Planning one a trip to big brook to look for shark teeth. Is the ramanessin brook a better spot? If so can you suggest a starting point on a map. Unfamiliar with the area. I'm from north jersey. Rivers in my area are low due to no rain.
Hi Frank, It depends on how much time you have. One time during a fairly dry year I went probably more than half a mile. (I think that I actually fell in the river that year, lol). The the mix of fossils found tends to change in different areas. Cheers, Chris
Great to see you out and about Chris, nice finds as well 👍
Hi David, Oh yes out and about and 3 more adventures in the works. Thank you for watching! Cheers, Chris
Imagine what this place was like collecting at 60 years ago. They are basically collecting what those first collectors tossed out.
True. Even 10 years ago they seemed much more abundant. Cheers, Chris
Awesome! Thanks for sharing.
My pleasure! 'glad that you liked it. Thank you for watching! Cheers,
Chris

Hi Kirk. Ramanessin is very good for teeth. Big brook has lots of Belemnites and Cretaceous Bilvalves. What are you looking for? Cheers, Chris
How far can you manageably walk from the road going East at BB? I only went about 200' and searched.
