Pratikraman is a practice in the Jain Religion where one contemplates on the emotions experienced during the activities that one has indulged in throughout the day. It is a period of introspection or looking within. Pratikramaṇ is a process of moving in the reverse gear and reflecting upon our mistakes. The contemplation is then followed by repentance for the wrong actions performed and the negative emotions bred inside the mind and soul. A Shravak/seeker must perform Pratikraman Aradhana daily and especially during the pious days of Parvadhiraj Paryushan Mahaparva. It not only improves ones actions, but also transforms ones nature resulting in inner purification.
