That's a very heartfelt way of opening yourself to us who follow you in your VLOGs. I somehow know how it is to keep yourself open and honest but at the same time keep some part of yourself private. At least you know your limits & a clear sign of what you want to be. With regards to coming out, I never came out. I wasn't even planning to come. Until my Dad outed me. Boy, was I floored! It's exactly the opposite of your situation. Religion wasn't an issue even if I grew up a squeaky clean Roman Catholic boy. That session with my Dad was brief. It was the most uncomfortable situation ever. He kept it short, straightforward, simple and just ended it. With a: 'End of Discussion'. But what a relief after he said he's fine with who I am coz he's my father. He emphasized I should maintain self-respect, don't lose myself, have the heart of a man and be strong. Coz he said no one's going to protect myself and it's only me who who could do that. That I shouldn't lose myself. Wether in a relationship or my way of life. I came out late in my life. Around your age. Before that I had series of blunders. Dating the wrong guys or shall I say not meant for me. And my 1st ever serious relationship was long. But it was destructive. My Dad back then kept on reminding me, that I'm almost losing myself. Indeed I was. Took me years to really decide I'm outta here. It was an expensive lesson on being in a gay relationship. So many regrets. BUT, best of all I learned. Expensive lesson though. But hey, I came out of it. Almost unscathed somehow. But then it's how you pick yourself up again and then start moving on. Today, I'm very confident with who I am. If they ask me 'what am I?' because I'm still single so long as they're polite I'd readily say I'm gay. It's strange coz they can't determine. LOL. Anyway, that's part of my life experience maturing to be a gay person. Your VLOG inspires a lot of young men out there, who're still struggling. Keep'm coming Sebastian. Even if you're not Filipino you've become a good wholesome symbol to the gay youngsters in the Philippines. You're doing great. I have Spanish-Portugues-Japanese-Filipino heritage, basically a mutt. But I always try to give good counsel if needed, among young Asian young pips. Congratulations Sebastian, you're doing a great 'job'

I got the biggest surprise of my life it came from my Dad. He's the typical macho. I didn't realize he was that open-minded. But the funnier thing was my mother. I thought Mom's would always know somehow. She went ballistic and hysterical. I kid you not. She didn't like the idea I would be living with another man. Much more a Chinese (embarrassing obvious racist trait of my Spanish-raced mother). LOL. But after that it just ran smoothly. I still stuck with my religion, since that time I thought I had no choice so I believe I've been blessed since then. I took notice of you when you launched your Bubble music video. Then later I was awed how brave you were to out yourself on youtube. That was really brave. Since then I followed your vlog and how you've become an endearing celebrity in the LGBT community. Another weird thing with me is that I don't have gay friends. I mean close gay friends. Only straight friends. Sure, I've got gay friends at work. Btw, I asked you a friend's request in your Facebook account. Don't worry, I'm not a stalker (LOL again). I noticed we have common friends. I just want to be friends with gay men who are chill and friendly about sharing their life experiences. Keep'm coming. Oh. Being a mutt can be an advantage too. My family are Jehovah's Witnesses and my coming out was difficult but long story short, they told me they may not accept the fact than I'm gay, but they still love me and we have a stable relationship, I do remember watching this coming out video of yours and it was honestly heartbreaking, but I'm so pleased that you have made yourself into a positive role model, much love.
omar carballo Wow I always feel my heart skip a beat when I see another ex-JW. I can still remember the faces of elders of my congregation when they would read me scripture on “homosexuality.” I’m happy your family was still able to relay that they love you when you came out. And, I hope your relationship with them is the best it can be despite your differences. It feels like a tightrope walk for me sometimes.

Oh, your parents are Jehovah's Witness. My partner’s immediate family is also Jehovahs, but his coming out was relatively positive. They’re accepting of me and have welcomed me into their family. Somehow they were able to look past their religion. We’ve been together for over 18 years now. My parents on the other hand weren’t/aren’t so accepting. I was brought up Catholic, and my mother to this day still sees my partner of 18 years as “just a friend”. She has never met my partner (and for many years refused to do so, so I just gave up). My siblings are very accepting, just my mum is strongly against it. My dad unfortunately passed away shortly after I came out. Although I know he was initially disappointed, my silblings told me he did ultimately accept it (but just didn’t get a chance to express his feelings to me).

Wonder Webshie It’s hard for me to find the right words to respond to this, Bimb. I spent so many nights trying to reconcile my faith with my sexuality, asking Jehovah why I had to go through this. I get the confusion. I can’t tell you what to think, how to feel. That’s your call. But I do hope you’re one day able to embrace this part of who you are. I dont know if it helps but once upon a time I used to repeat a certain scripture to myself “The lord will not tempt beyond what you can bear.” I felt I tortured myself enough to know that particular belief system wasn’t for me. Anywho, I wish you peace with your decisions.

And when im going home i felt nervous because im going home with my Jehovah's Witnesses family. Before i go home, i went first to my catholic friend removing my makeup while crying because i can't understand why they are not able to accepy my full sexuality? Omg my teary eyes began to fell :'(

Oh, your parents are Jehovah's Witness. My partner’s immediate family is also Jehovahs, but his coming out was relatively positive. They’re accepting of me and have welcomed me into their family. Somehow they were able to look past their religion. We’ve been together for over 18 years now. My parents on the other hand weren’t/aren’t so accepting. I was brought up Catholic, and my mother to this day still sees my partner of 18 years as “just a friend”. She has never met my partner (and for many years refused to do so, so I just gave up). My siblings are very accepting, just my mum is strongly against it. My dad unfortunately passed away shortly after I came out. Although I know he was initially disappointed, my silblings told me he did ultimately accept it (but just didn’t get a chance to express his feelings to me).

Sebastian Castro actually bimb im already CPA, but i dont think im financially stable. I grew up in a religious family, and ive been serving in our church since i was a kid, so its really hard for me to come out. 😭😭💔💔

Wonder Webshie It’s hard for me to find the right words to respond to this, Bimb. I spent so many nights trying to reconcile my faith with my sexuality, asking Jehovah why I had to go through this. I get the confusion.
I can’t tell you what to think, how to feel. That’s your call. But I do hope you’re one day able to embrace this part of who you are. I dont know if it helps but once upon a time I used to repeat a certain scripture to myself “The lord will not tempt beyond what you can bear.” I felt I tortured myself enough to know that particular belief system wasn’t for me. Anywho, I wish you peace with your decisions.
Thank you kuya Seb for always inspiring me. I remember the day when i went to LGBT Parade wearing full glam makeup and Rainbow paint over my face. And when im going home i felt nervous because im going home with my Jehovah's Witnesses family. Before i go home, i went first to my catholic friend removing my makeup while crying because i can't understand why they are not able to accepy my full sexuality? Omg my teary eyes began to fell :'(
