A really useful feature being able to allow some ambient sound in. Used that on my 1000XM3's in busy airports. Can watch a show, cancel out the background buzz but hear announcements clearly. It's crazy!

That just sounds ridiculous $600 for headphones I remember growing up in the 90s and early 2000s. And people are just listen to music on stereo systems that sounded amazing not 6 to $700 headphones

Just get the Sony 1000X. They have more feature for $250 less. Plus if you get the old M2, it's even cheaper than the M3 and still have most feature that the Dolby has.

Nice review, I wish you told us about the price. I checked the Dolby website and it costs $600. The price is not realistic, it will not sell well . Dolby miscalculated the allure and the attraction for this device. In 2018 people will not shell out this kind of money for a device with limited use. And in a market with big competition from likes of Sony, Boss, Beats audio and others why would anyone consider this headphone.
WTF are you babbling about? $600 is NOTHING for headphones. Audiophiles spend thousands on cans.
Its not actually a lot. And you're living under a rock if you think people will not shell out this kind of money for a device. People are buying iPhones which are more than $1000 and Samsung phones just closely at $800. People thesedays are spending thousands on headphones. I know a few people who bought the Sennheiser HD 800S which are about $1600.

Because if you were I guarantee there are better options out there for consumer grade headphones. Save your money. For audio production I would never get anything remotely close to what they are advertising.
Funny that people are comparing mobile phones to headphones, You get a mobile phone which is multiutility thing but headphones is just... you hear to songs.
P.S I get it i get it... If you are into music production and DJ stuff these might be useful but not for daily general use.

they had this for a very long time in the firearms target shooting scene......basically the mic picks up normal conversations and cancels out the loud shooting noise in a firing range... : )
the better models you could sync bluetooth, enjoy shooting with your jam , hear your instructor , and saving those ear drums from loud bangs...!

That headphone is so awesome i love the volume control. You don't have to reach your phone volume button to increase or decrease the volume, instead, just by swiping up and down.

Why are headphones labeled left and right? It makes you wonder. Your brain can't tell difference if you put the headphones on backwards.
If you are watching a movie and something happens on the left side of the screen you would want that sound to be on the left side. Same for games you would think someone is coming from the wrong side.
richard baker because certain sounds only come out of one cup and the headphones are tailed to fit in your head facing one way. Try wearing any beats headphones on the opposite ears

People People the new beats headphones are a large improvement. I had beats around when they first came out and now . Big improvements. Still over priced asf which is why I NEVER pay full price for them. But still the 2011 beats and the 2018 beats are drastically different. I’m only speaking for the solos and studios tho.
