Ras Michael & The Sons Of Negus live in Bielefeld @ PC69, 03.May 1992

An unforgettable concert event. This was the second Ras Michael concert I have experienced. The first time I saw the Sons of Negus was around 1983 at the Odeon in my home town of Münster/Germany. The first two photos in the video of Ras Michael and Sydney Wolfe on the big bassdrum are also from this 83 gig. The concert uploaded here from 1992 in Bielefeld was recorded by a friend at the time (Bernd) on a Sony Walkman with microphone input. From 01:07:20 the sound quality unfortunately drops a little, but is still enjoyable. At this point the cassette was changed and it didn't sound quite as good.
Before the Sons of Negus came on stage, H.R. (Human Rights ) played with their charismatic singer Ras Hailu Gabriel Joseph I. There is also a recording of this...The band H.R. then stayed on stage as a backing band for the sons of negus...you can hear a detailed introduction to the band in the song "dont be bad".
I will always remember this concert, because I have rarely experienced such strong positive vibes. Exception: Prince Far I and the Arabs, which also had these vibes and was an almost spiritual experience.
After the concert, when the hall had almost emptied, we stood around with a few friends in a small group. Suddenly Ras Michael stood there, shook hands with everyone and thanked each of us for attending his concert...I will never forget this encounter! we then had a bit of small talk with the Ras and thanked him again for performing for us. i will never forget this moment...
