Looks like I am missing out on alot of fun. Glad all are safe.
My wife and I were both in the Navy and stationed in Guam from 89-93, so we were there for Russ and Yuri to name a few. Omar was the beast of them all and leveled the island. I was ironically a weather guy (AG) so I was stuck on watch when Omar hit, so my wife and 2 kids (3 months and 2 years) had to ride it out alone, and it was 1 hell of a ride. We lost power for 2 weeks and water for 3, so I can relate to the heat/humidity that was relentless with no power/AC. 1 of the few times I was happy to go to work since they had power. Glad you made it through and good to see the great people of Guam pulling through once again..
Yes I do remember Omar- they all have their personalities 😣 and yes VERY HUMID.. Glad we are all safe and sound 👍🏻 Thank you for sharing your experiences and thank you much for watching!
Thanks for the sights hopefully we recover quickly guam

Goo gone to get rid of the tape mess
Our son moved to guam in 2021, professor at University of guam. He survived covid after moving there, in guam memorial hospital 11 days, he was very ill age 43. He experienced first typhoon in guam. He lives in mangilalo, still no power, but have water, it's June 11 now. He and wife and two toddlers are doing their best to cool off til power returns. God bless you all
Thankful to have another professor choose to share their knowledge and teach on Guam❤️ Like others, wishing him and his family all the best and may the days get much easier🙏🏼
Thank you for these images, 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 for all of you islanders.
Thank you!
Glad to see you have Power at least generator 🙏🏽 NCS area still NO power!
Yes, but it has been going on and off up until now😣
Is it possible to tape the glass door to seal it from the rain? Or cover it with a tarp to reduce the rain gettng in? Thanks
Thank goodness for our swimming pool... kept us cooled off for about 5 days, and we used buckets of pool water for flushing. Swimming and carrying water up three flights of stairs gave us all the exercise we needed. Power and water returned on day 8. So sad that many others are still suffering almost 3 weeks later. 🌴😎
Guess we can get something positive out of every situation. I too had to walk up flights of stairs more than I probably have ever!
Thanks for the video. Gosh brought back memories, we experienced super typhoon Pamela growing up in Guam, but I heard typhoon Mawar winds were much much worse in the northern part of Guam. A lot of communities suffered in the northern part of Guam. God's Blessings be upon you and everyone. I have to say that you're one of the fortunate ones since your condo has a generator and also the flooding practically evaporated from the heat plus you have the breeze coming through. May I ask the area or location of these condos, I still have family in Guam. Their home suffered a lot from this horrible typhoon Mawar. 😥 🙏God Bless everyone in Guam.
Note: FEMA office need to be setup in Guam permanently maybe they will be better organized in the future.
Basically anything high up should have good breeze.. a friend has condo in Mangilao and it’s got good breeze too.👍🏻 Thank you for your well wishes- it is so very much appreciated! ❤️
Typhoon Mawar was a real pain in the butt. Had to throw all my refrigerate foods away, and start over. And the couches, and chairs were mildew had to clean those. You are subscribed.
Oh wow- so sorry to hear that! I had the same issues all around - but glad everyone’s ok 👌
Wishing you well
@@her2ndwind same to you. And glad everyone is safe.
Are your windows hurricane impact windows?
Actually yes they are tempered windows, but we still would fare better if we had the extra coverage of shutters👍🏻 water still gets in no matter what we do though. All units in the building flooded just the same from what we gathered- even with their shutters. That was a particularly strong and long drawn out storm.
‘Goo Be Gone’ will work to remove the duct tape residue from the window. Rubbing alcohol may work if you have that around the condo or vodka but that would be a waste right? Gasoline would work too but considering the short supply of it. I buy 100% orange peel concentrate and use as an all purpose degreaser. Goo Be Gone can be found at HD.
Thanks for the advice! will try alcohol first since that’s what I have.👍🏻
Thank you alcohol worked- easily I might add!👍🏻
Watching part 2 now… Lanya, Guam needs some climate reparations from the top carbon emitters as these storms are only going to get worse in strength. The Feds should just open a permanent FEMA office up in Andersen especially w/ China breathing down our neck
A permanent FEMA office is a good suggestion if they aren’t already👍🏻

Let’s make a quick list of things Guam needs-
A state of the art civilian and veteran hospital for starters. FEMA office, a UN (United Nations) building in Agana for Micronesia as Guam is positioned to be the defacto capital of this expansive oceanic region and a world class botanical and aviary sanctuary. We need more professional landscaping and the quality staff to maintain it.
