This is my favorite performance from Home Free. The vocals were outstanding, the melodies and harmonies were amazing, and the acting was hilarious. It was also dramatically different from what they usually do. They usually cover country and pop songs, so this was definitely new territory for them. I hope they do more performances like this.

Even in the Navy, we have them. They're black, and we call them watch caps. I never wore them on my ship, I was stationed in San Diego, but I sure wore them in boot camp and a school!

My mom taught American History for HS seniors (17-18 yo) and she had a record of traditional sea shanties that she play for them so they'd get to know how music was used to help them work in rhythm. (Yes, vinyl and they were lucky it was stereo!) Love this medley.

Knew you would love this! My father was a Coastguardsman. He sailed on the Eagle a true multi-mast sailing ship. He loved sea shanties (people think they are pirate songs, but no - they are sailing songs!) and I was SO EXCITED when I heard Home Free had done them. Have to say, I've heard the CG Academy men's choral group do these, and they were always my favorite on sea shanties until this came out. Tim's laydown of the bass line was amazingly low and SOLID, leads by Chance, Rob and Austin could not have been better, tight harmony and ADAM RUPP is crazy good. Sea Shanties were created by men for men's voices, and provided these guys with the opportunity to do what they do insanely well.

There is a movie I watched about Sea Shanties last year, wish I remembered what the name of it was, based out of England, it was a romcom based on a true story.
Said boat apparently belongs to Chance, and Tim was standing in it at his brother-in-law’s house. Because when you don’t have room for a boat in Los Angeles, you store it at your bandmate’s brother-in-law’s house. As you do.
I did the same thing! Instantly put that on repeat. It was such a fun song. You can't help but be happy by the end of that. I personally think Adam absolutely slayed the beat boxing.

This was so great! Where have I heard sea chantys before? I think the Kingston Trio might be the group. I'm going way back here. Thankfully there are singers today who are trying to keep some of the great musical styles alive. Wasn’t this great? Tim stood very still because he was balanced in a little boat in his yard and didn’t want to fall out. Loved Adam’s “castanets” and wave splashes in the last song. I’m so glad Chance talked the other guys into doing this, and his clear, true baritone was perfect for it. Absolutely wonderful and gives the happy energy we needed so much. Wasn’t this great? Tim stood very still because he was balanced in a little boat in his yard and didn’t want to fall out. Loved Adam’s “castanets” and wave splashes in the last song. I’m so glad Chance talked the other guys into doing this, and his clear, true baritone was perfect for it. Absolutely wonderful and gives the happy energy we needed so much. I really enjoyed watching you loving it!
