Dave, I think this is going to be a great yacht. They have really brought a breath of fresh air to arguably the largest segment of the multi hull market. Can't wait to get on one!

Hey Darren. I really looking forward to this one. It is so very refined and innovative at the same time.

My dream boat the HH44 OC, with a few upgrades... luxury at cruising. I have no interest in speed, but it offers that as well.

Hey Chris! Thanks for watching. There is soooo much to love about this design. I think that they have established the new standard for the perfect helm position,

3 Mar 2024. And the magnificent work of art HH44OC hull #3 was just turned over to Jason and Nikki Wynn who have the Gone with the Wynn's channel. Nuff sais.

Hi Dave, thanks for the heresy mono inclusion. I was just telling my wife the price on these super cats is like buying a new Swan or Oyster when one goes about 20% larger than a cat. Good stuff, really appreciate all the work you put into this project.

Thanks so much Greg. I actually have 5 mono reviews coming up in the 57-67 ft range. There is still something soooo romantic about a mono hull.

    Another great review Dave!!
We love this boat as well and if money was no object we would have bought it already (actually, we probably would have done the 55 lol)
The only boat that is somewhat comparable to this (but in a VERY old design) is the Antares 44 hybrid. Almost identical drive system… but the price point is within 100k of the HH44, so it comes down to what you like modern or classic
I’m following intently with the barefoot doctors 52 build ;)

Hey Mike. Glad you like it. The HH52 Future Yacht episode is on its way. I’m interested in the Portfolio 47. For me, it’s about as perfect as a boat will get.

Great show, as always. I see a great annoyance with that pole that holds up the cockpit roof and throttle control while working the sheets! But in saying that still want one :)

Hi Mason. Thanks so much for watching and commenting!! You are the second person to mention the location of the winches close to controls and wheel. I saw it as an advantage, but I’m starting to wonder now. Regardless, I WANT ONE TOO!!! Lol.

Have a look at the HH88 if you haven't seen it already. You are dribbling a bit in your description of the boat. HH is a very classy setup but I think you should visit the ones that you like and go from there. I noticed a comment on Wynns who is getting a 44 and they have some good info on why they choose HH. As far as an investment in safety they build it to not break. Sketch To Sea is getting an 88 and if the quality is a turn on it looks very good. HH does it all to your specs which probably applies to some others so that is something to add to your pros and cons in as much as your looking at some design changes for more space. Good luck your are really doing your homework.

Hey Casskintas! Thanks for watching and especially for taking the time to comment. I will certainly take a look at the 88, although it is sooooo far out of my target envelope that it will be for curiosity only. Gun Boat just launched their 80 and it is art on the water! Thanks again for watching!

Dave, Suggest you look at the new HH52. It has 4.8 kW of solar collectors. That gives you more electric drive capability. Just a thought,it’s only money!

Thanks, Dave for another great tour! My wife and I are looking at eco-friendly options from boats with a hybrid or pure electric drive as well as after purchase updates from companies like Ocean Volt. Will you be doing any pure electric boat reviews like the Outremer 4Zero? A bit out of our price range but we can always dream!

    • @navalgazingatcampdavid
      @navalgazingatcampdavid  Год назад +1

Hey Ike! I’m dying to get on board the VAAN series of aluminum electric cats. Have a look at them. Also coming soon will be the Island Spirit with a whopping 209 kWh battle bank. This is the one Sailing Doodles will be buying. Both have a price range that may do the trick.

Love your videos especially the comp charts! Wondering if you could include the individual hull width (or where you might find that spec for comparison)? We are doing a lot of the same research - I think your images and features mostly refer to the HH-SC 44 version (w/base $1.3m so +50% would be $2m sail away) - but your price chart is based on the HH-OC. It seems HH has changed their designs since the Wynns announced their order so it has been confusing regarding hybrid option, dagger boards, carbon fiber features, dual helms, etc… Not to be critical b/c it is tough to compare exact specs for different boats - I understand why you just add 50% to base cost for comparison, but I found that when you dig into the details and compare apples to apples the Seawind 1370 and Balance 442 are pretty close in price. (Also agree with a prior comment that the Antares 44 would be a great comp.) Thanks for sharing your videos - appreciate the hard work!

Hi A. Thanks so very much for watching and taking the time to share! I will do a deep dive into the pricing, but I would be VERY surprised if the Balance and Seawind are similar. If so, I’d go Balance aaaalllll day long. That ship is just an amazing quality machine from every single angle. Thanks again for watching!!!

From what I can tell the SC version and OC version from a build perspective and fit out is the same. The cost is in the difference of materials in structure and fittings used more akin for racing, rather than cruising.
