    Now I understand why some people giving feedback comments state they have issues with certain things like motion blur, etc. I don't think they adjust the tweaks to deal with these issues. This video explains a lot of the tweaks that you can do to improve your personal viewing experience which is great! Thanks a bunch for this video. Now I feel confident that I will be adept in adjusting settings so I don't have issues and get the best viewing experience available for my personal taste. Kudos to you!!

    9:57 Real Cinema was greyed out and actually not "ON". It was like this because TruMotion was on and set to User. If you turn off TM, then the RC option becomes selectable and is able to be toggled On or Off. If you toggle it off, then turn TM back on to User/Clear/Smooth you will see that RC is greyed out once again, but now it says "Off" because it gets greyed out and shows whatever the setting was in before TM was activated.

    I've had my CX for 2 months now and have seen pretty much every video on picture settings. For me, I find many of these recommendations unhelpful. What I do is adjust OLED light, contrast, color, white balance. I like the picture a little bit brighter, with a little more color saturation and contrast than most of these people apparently do. It doesn't make that much difference which mode you start out with in my experience (cinema, expert, etc) if you focus on these main settings. But as this man says, watch a movie or show you are familiar with and make the adjustments until you find what you like, irrespective of what the experts say.

    I decided to splurge and buy a 65” LG CX, firstly let me state that YES I LOVE this TV, with that said I simply CANNOT understand how over HALF A CENTURY AGO we PUT A MAN ON THE MOON, yet in 2021 we still cannot figure out how to give console gamers a GOOD QUALITY PICTURE AND NO LAG? It blows my mind that I cannot use the settings I want while playing my PS4 pro, which was honestly my main reason for buying this particular TV. Now I’m not going to get into an argument about which settings people THINK I should use or not use, I like bright colors and smooth motion, so ideally I want to be able to use tru motion in vivid mode while I game and of course I CAN’T because the input lag makes it UNPLAYABLE, especially because I play mainly sports games! Especially now more then ever because I can no longer watch them on TV due to being a disabled veteran and refusing to watch spoiled athletes cry about....well nvm I’m not going there. My point is why do I have to use that CRAPPY game mode which makes picture and motion LOOK AWFUL? I’m not tech savvy I simply would love to know why my $2,500 TV isn’t capable of letting me play in the manner I want to?

    • @jollama
      @jollama 3 года назад

      Unlike other TVs that have a “game mode” LG’s CX has a picture setting meant for games. Both the game mode on LCDs and LG’s game picture mode compromise on picture quality to reach low input lag.
      Also vivid??? TF is wrong with you

    • @MAGA4EVA1986
      @MAGA4EVA1986 3 года назад

      @@jollama Yeah I know it’s crazy for me to want saturated vibrant colors on a TV isn’t it? I know it’s crazy to care more about vivid colors then so called “accurate” color. The fact is, the only reason game mode has low input lag is because the PICTURE QUALITY SUCKS in game mode, thankfully you can trick the TV into thinking it’s a “pc” you’re using and that gives you the ability to use the other modes to improve picture quality but it doesn’t improve the motion which is the most important part and the main reason I spent over $2,000 on the so called “best tv for gaming”. It’s irrelevant at this point because I have it and can’t take it back. On the plus side at least it’s great for watching TV even if it’s just the same as any other TV for gaming

    My 2021 LG CX OLED UHD 77" is only a couple of months old but we've never had a really clear picture on anything that has movement. Still pictures look great. Purchased from Best Buy in February 2021. No cable; just use WebOS apps or Roku Ultra 4K. I've tried wireless and hardwired and just about every setting you suggested as well as others. Absolutely terrible sports viewing regardless of the input source (RUclips TV, FuboTV, Amazon, Neflix). I think these settings recommended here are probably great for gaming, but not for sports watching.

    Ok, I'm confused even more now. There is no " game mode" on the cx, there is a "game" picture preset and "instant game response" which can be applied to any pic preset. When you say " game mode" are you referring to "game preset" or instant game response? Based on what I read online "instant game response" is basically ALLM which can be applied to any pic preset therefore the lag would be the same in all the presets. With that being said the " game" pic preset would have no advantage over the others. I even read the user manual and it says " game" pic preset provides a picture " suitable for gameplay." It says nothing about response time being reduced. That leads me to the conclusion that "instant game response" is LGs name for ALLM.

      We provide more in-depth settings recommendations here: www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/lg/cx-oled/settings but it should automatically switch to game mode when it detects a game being played. The only time you should set the input to PC is if you want proper 4:4:4 and plan on using it as a PC monitor (or unless we mention it in the review/settings page).

    These settings are so wrong. I have been using the 65 version of the TV for 6 months right now, here's my two cents : 1. I am not sure why everyone hates sharpness so much and turns it down to 0 especially for viewing high 4K quality content, I do not watch any regular TV channels, but I do a watch a lot of 4K films and documentaries, using 50-70 sharpness makes the image so crisp without loss of quality or any other negative effects, depth is really increased and everything looks better. 2 Do not use "game mode" unless you play competitive games that need the smallest input lag possible, however should you play those games I am sure you will not do it on a TV. Using "game mode" locks you out of settings like HDR contrast, trumotion picture settings as well as other color variants,if you are using this on any gaming console do yourself a favor and do use anything else besides game mode and fine tune it. The trumotion of this TV is really brilliant and gives a more fluid look and feel to games locked at 30FPS in consoles, the input lag is really not crazy around 16ms with a lot of settings especially trumotion set on. Please do not trust blindly in settings made by random people on youtube and test for yourself, in the end you will get a much better picture than what you can find around here.

    • @Mamuttum
      @Mamuttum 2 года назад

      @Jeff Carlin Exactly my thoughts as well, but when I tried it based on the games I played and their graphic engine, some of them really shine, if you have the possibility check out Shadow Of Tomb Raider, enable SMAA and be in 4K rez, then turn sharpness to 20 check image and bump it to 70, the image crisp and quality is drastic compared to lower sharpness values.

    • @Mamuttum
      @Mamuttum 2 года назад

      @Jeff Carlin Oh my mistake in that case, my opinion and perspective is more for video games, not sure how this affects movies as I don't watch any besides some documentaries.

    • @hoteltango1
      @hoteltango1 3 года назад +1

      If you use the PC icon then some functionality and options that you may want to use are removed. For example I set my PS5 to 'bluray player' that way I get 4:4:4 when I play games but also get to use real cinema or trumotion when watching 4k films or amazon. You can't do that in PC mode.

    • @RTINGSdotcom
      @RTINGSdotcom  3 года назад

      Overall, the brightness shouldn't be too much of a concern. We suggest leaving it at the defaults generally, but if you need to adjust it to suit your room/setup, that's totally fine. The bigger thing concern would be content variety and avoiding static images, not the brightness.

    • @RTINGSdotcom
      @RTINGSdotcom  2 года назад

      That's a personal preference, but if you have multiple gaming consoles and don't have any specific bandwidth/port requirements then yes it might be easier to hook them up to different ports so you can just switch inputs to go from one console to the other.

    • @RTINGSdotcom

      So, the thing about eye comfort modes is that they basically eliminate all blue light to try and reduce eye-strain. But that obviously messes with the white balance and colors. Unfortunately, there won't be a way to get the correct white balance with eye comfort mode on. Sorry about that!
