yes, but it takes a little bit more than just arcane power and trinket since the new resilience gears mitigate a lot of crit damage. I was using destruction potions in this video so it can be pretty costly.
it works, but its so much worse than a good geared frost mage, frost nova+frostbolt and lance is doing the same dmg plus more control, more cc, more survivability etc
@@tarikhansen5966 yes i totally agreed. Frost mage has way better survivability and utilities to make great plays. However, I still think arcane fire spec has better sustain damage output since frost nova is really easy to break in BG situations especially when the enemy team has priests and pallys. Water ele nova + frostbolt and lance is probably the only reliable combo you can execute in most situations. There are so many counter plays against shatter proc like dispell, hunter enrage, trinket, block, even spell reflect and very hard to kill a good geared dic priest. Arcane fire is very straight forward and there is almost no counter play to it. Even if you just cast scorch, its still way more kill pressure on enemy healers. You can also cast from a pretty safe distance once you spec into fire range talent. Frost mage is better in premade BGs where they can very good facilitators. Arcane fire is much better in pug.
tbc.wowhead.com/talent-calc/mage/23003520122021503301251-0550220103 you can put last 2 points into either burning soul for better scorch stacking or imp blink. I normally go for imp blink.
great video. Haste potions are only melee haste btw might want to check your cast time before and after using it. Maybe GBC gets faster but im not real sure
thanks for making this I wanted to see if this still worked in tbc.
