real reasons for that to be flopped is because 1. superhero films getting oversaturated and people are already feeling bored. Disney+ series is actually the bad move. It made to be overfed with these kind of superhero stuffs. DC's arrowvers shows werent that popular in India because the possibility to view that was way less compared to seeing current Disney+ series (becuase of hotstar) 2. Incosistency in DCEU movie arcs - cancellation of DCEU & firing of fan favorite actors like HC after getting him led to an idea that whatever happens in Shazam 2 doesnt matter, because we are going to get DCU 3. Unclear Future - James Gunn hasnt revealed whats in the future for some of the characters whom he already have confirmed to be a part of DCU (Jason Momoa, Zachery Levi, etc). So fans feel there is no use in getting overwhelmed with characters who might not have no future (Yes, Zachery Levi is confirmed to be in DCU, he is just keeping his mouth shut and so as Jason Momoa who will be the Lobo in DCU, JM has declined it because he is not supposed to say that yet and it will bring down the hype for Aquaman 2 and will end up in same BO results as Shazam 2) 4. Firing Big Actors - Batman, Superman & Wonder Woman - all actors who played these characters became fan favorite actors and they got fired in the most ruthless way (HC fired by Hamada & Roland, Ben Affleck and Gal Gadot got treated worse by Joss Whedon and his way of directing the JL). Ben is a academy award winner for directing Argo - imagine the kind of audience and global attention he would have brought to the batman film (vs Deathstroke) 5. No big names / visuals - Certains fans atleast feel the need to watch the film in theatre to see their actors in big screen or if the visuals are supercool (Avatar, Aquaman 1, Avenger - IW and EG, etc) but if there is nothing like that they can wait and watch in OTT.
Main reason is no continuity in story n universe.....over fun movie only not serious movie....like comedy movie....the same reason for marvel movie....now superhero movie like comedy movie.....
shazam 2 is flop they missed to add main character such as superman or Wonder Woman at least in second of the movie. Post credits scene are not up to the mark. In future 2dc movies yet to release the flash movie will run two batmans and supergirl and wat about aquaman 2 .
