I recommend, for anyone interested in playing Ace Combat 3 Electrosphere, that you get the translated japanese version, since the US release lacks all of the amazing story, so it's not surprising why ProFanboy didn't like it. In my opinion, the japanese version is pretty damn good.
Exclusive in Ace Combat 3 JP version: -mission briefing is voiced -can switch side at certain part of story (UPEO, General Resource, Neucom, Ouroboros). You begin the game in UPEO. -your plane choices is limited to which fraction you're in -you're always alone (no friendly unit in your side) in US ver except in mission 3. Unless in certain mission where u re supposed to protect that unit. However in JP ver you have 1-3 friendly unit(s) on your side in most missions, only very few missions that you're truly alone. -Locking on targets (if you use missiles) seems to have more range in JP version.

There's is a Japanese flight Simulator game for the PS1 it's called Jet De Go Let's Go By Airliner where you fly real life aircrafts from Japan Airlines & flying to airports around Japan
