I get weepy as well Rob when I hear or see someone who needs something and nothing is being done. You are doing a fantastic job with Youth....God Bless you both!
So happy for the Chateau Scholarship. The generous gifts from the Ministry. Great idea to have students do work around the Chateau. Education comes in many forms. You just may inspire a love for gardening etc… love Leslie’s arch with a table in the center. You two are the best!
OMG Rob Your emotion is palpable ❤ I have tears running down my face ... the depth of your feeling and want for a better world is inspiring .. Thank you Lord for Rob & Leslie Hilderbrand ❤️❤️ AMEN ❤
Hi, Leslie I absolutely adore your idea of the plant tunnel with the herb garden at the end. Also, the ability to place a long table down the length of the tunnel for meals.... bliss. Rob, I agree with you on the words to the hymn....beautiful. Great job guys!
So glad to see you back safe and well from your travels. Also to hear about the generous support of your ministry. Rob, your tender heart never fails to bless my tender heart. Blessings to you both as you make this final push of the year to impact the lives of young people.
I just can’t stop admiring what a magnificent building and property you have! What a blessing for you both and all of the students! Best memories ever!!! ❤
Love your hymns, especially He Giveth More Grace, it’s a favourite and the words so appropriate as you recover from jet lag. Thanks for sharing your heart for ministry with us!
I think it’s good for the students to pitch in and have scheduled chores. Beautiful hymn. Ive forgotten that one. We rarely sing the hymns like when I was a child in church.
I've never heard that beautiful hymn before but the words are so powerful and came right at a time when I needed them. I look forward every week to your posts and the light you share with us all.
Thank you for playing us a hymn . It brings tears. You both just have a heart for our Lord. Thank you for sharing your life, I look so forward to your videos & have watched since you began.❤
A ten hour flight is incredibly long and jet lag and real thing! I applaud you and your Mr. Bingley for doing this so frequently and with true grace. As another comment said, Mr. B has a lot of frequent flyer miles. 😃 God bless you. God is truly with you both and giving you more grace.
Rob. Such a great guy. Now we’ll have to watch that movie. Thank you in sharing your heart. Prayers to you and Leslie and your successes. Love the piano at the end. 🙏
I have greatly enjoyed your postings for a couple of years and look forward to your weekly videos. I live in Saskatchewan and feel a kinship, not only in location experiences, but in faith and appreciate your sensitive sharing of the gospel. A good friend of mine was a pianist while a student at Caronport and your father played duets with her on the organ there. That's many years ago but I remember hearing of the accident that changed your family's life. Someday, I would love to be able to drop in and see you both in person. By the way, Les Mis was always one of my favourite stories ever since high school French class. Keep up the great work and the investment in young people! Blessings !!!
I’ve missed you guys so much and I didn’t realize just how much until I found your new video. Thanks for the long story this time, it was simply awesome. Glad to hear the news about the Church’s sponsoring your problems and issues. Hopefully with heat pumps and you won’t be cold this Winter. It really frustrated me that you wouldn’t put in a firebox especially with all those wonderful trees that you have on your land and since some other Chateau people I follow use them and stay toasty warm. But your understand your Château better than your followers. Solar and heat pumps will be so great for you all. I think this whole thing is God repaying all of your contributions with including the local youth in your events. Not to mention the teaching that you do to all those wonderfully lucky students that you teach for credit. They are so blessed with you sharing .The WAY with them. It’s simply marvelous, and just think of the sharing that all these students so with the wonderful WAY things you guys teach them. Rob/Leslie your wonderfully piano playing will be such a blessing with the new Students. I will be praying for you and your ministry. Amen!
The grounds are looking stunning. Nothing looks better than freshly mowed lawns and the smell of fresh cut grass is just the best, mowing is my favourite job to do around the house.
Bonjour Rob and Leslie, Enjoyed your latest video, you do these so well. Great idea to have students do some gratis. You are doing a super work teaching these young adults and in a cultural setting like no other. Blessings to you both
Your piano playing is just the perfect ending for your videos. I enjoy it so much. I'm sitting here watching Mr. Bingley on your video wondering how many frequent flyers miles does this puppy have. Way more than me! Haha!
Jet lag is difficult, I agree, but I try several things before flying to England, which I still do regularly. Before the date of departure, start adjusting your sleep times, sleep as much as you can on the flight, drink lots of water, and when sleep is scarce upon arrival, take some melatonin. Every cell in your body has it's own little clock, which can make it hard to sleep according the actual clock and not your own sleep patterns. If you find yourself awake at three a.m., don't get up, stay in bed, and relax every muscle from the toes up. Don't stress over awake time, just sing hymns, God's hears all. Advice from an old globetrotter. Congratulations on the good news, we love to hear good news.
This is fantastic my brother and sister. God is good, our God is faithful. When you were talking about the donations for the Chateau areas that needed to be fixed, right away the Holy Spirit told me the electrical/ solar panel.. I'm here you're saying that they're going to fix it for you.. confirmation. I'm so excited God's kingdom here on Earth as it is in heaven. I'm praying and hoping one day I'll come visit and volunteer help. Happy tears 🥲 another awesome episode. Thank you Jesus. 🙏❤️. Who wrote the song "He Gives Us More Grace"? Great to see you back safe and sound in France! Jet lag is definitely real and sometimes worse than others. 😢 Thanks for the beautiful hymn, and adding the words was a wonderful idea. It's one of my favourites and reminds me of our years worshipping at the Free Methodist church in Wawota Sk. God bless you and Leslie as you prepare for your next group of students. 🙏😊🖐🇨🇦
Congratulations on the help with the electricity and heating 😃. Bless your heart when speaking about working with the students 😊. Regarding your jet lag which you're probably over now but melatonin is supposed to help with that. Take care and I look forward to watching videos with the students. Linda from BC Canada 🇨🇦
I’m so glad you heard back from the church in Oregon that they are helping with the electricity! I love hearing about churches helping other ministries. Always good to have young people help you out when they are staying with you.
Such a beautiful ending to your video, it brought me endless delight to hear this him, and to rest upon those words. So excited to hear about the projects being funded and I look forward to seeing your work within the new students.
Congrats on the funds for two huge projects! A friendly suggestion for the student chores how about making a signup chart which requires 5 hours a week to allow for flexibility in case a job needs more time and also gives them more choice and not always do the same thing. 😊
I'm jealous and wishing there were restaurants here (ontario) that has food like your meal and at such an excellent price. So glad you will be able to reduce your electricity costs.
On the basement leak! Why don’t you get a couple of truckloads of Sandy materials and build up a barrier around the base of the house the water drains away from the base! And pack it really tight one of those machines for packing the dirt! Do this a couple of times and you’ll have a nice natural dam so water flows away from the house!
Wow loved the video. Great news about your donation for your power problems. Loved the hymn at the end and especially having the words on the screen. Thank you 🙏
It is really great news that you will get the electrics and heating sorted out it will make everything you are doing so much more viable long term. As you may know I am not much of a religious man but I love when you play the piano at the end of the videos. As I was watching tonight it was a bit cold and raining outside here in the Uk and It made me think of how great it would be, come December, to have you do some Christmas songs on the piano with some appropriate decorations about. I think that piano brings something so very special and warm to the Chateau. So looking forward to the videos over the next few months! Oh by the way our children have started to watch the videos too😁.
We are so glad you made it back home. We are also sorry to hear about your jet lag. Last year we flew from Nampa ID to Seattle WA, then onto London. A friend told us about the No-Jet-Lag pills. They come from New Zealand. We ordered them and followed the instructions and we had no jet lag going to London and returning home. We would recommend them to you. They really work. They don't react to any medications, all natural. I would send you a photo of the box but not sure how to do that.
Hey Rob, there's so much deep and serious theology to wrestle with in Les Mis. How much were Jean Valjean and Fantine sinners, or were they truly sinned against victims who had no choice because of being cornered by those who oppressed them (if so then genuine injustice)? To choose the lesser of two evils in order to stay alive and keep others alive--is that the right choice when there is truly no good choice? What if you were to do a study of the poor and those victimized by injustice and oppression throughout Scripture? I'd REALLY like to know what you would have to say after thoroughly wrestling with this topic. THANK YOU for noticing and having compassion, which is the first step, and many people never get there.
Good movie to show your students and discuss empathy with them. Neat how the window panes in the chateau look like crosses. Could you show us how you eat, what utensils to use when eating that fancy food? Good show.
A lovely episode. You are doing such a great work and deserve all the help you can get. I believe you will go from strength to strength. Loved the hymn!
Well guys you have a very busy schedule over in the States or Canada, well Rob what is next on the Chateau agenda? The work never stops, great to see the kindest of the Church, so Lesh go guys!! Take care and God Bless 😇😇🏰🙏 PS: Rob when time permits can you go out to the main road D766 and show us the Chateau with the lights on?
Lol, I've had jet lag for 18 months since I had that plague. I'd be horrified to have a house full of visitors to entertain. Mistletoe is a symptom a tree is sick. It doesn't kill. Try sprinkling some iron on the ground around the tree, or talk to a Master Gardener familiar with your soil. I was looking at that square, all the rivulets made by the heavy rain will continue to deepen if not filled by dragging.
Students working is a great idea....and it will create even more memories and an attachment for them to the chataue. Can you get a rake attachment to pull behind the lawn mower for the square weeds?
Leslie and Rob The other Chateaus that I watch have given up on the Box Hedges completely and have replaced them. The returning infestation proved too persistent. Carol in Nova Scotia

Just a thought, you may want to rotate the "jobs" that the students do. Or, give them a first, second, third choice scenario, but not guarantee that they'll get their first choice as their first assignment. A student might find that they like a particular job, and are happy to continue doing it. There are a lot of ways to go about this, and I'm sure you'll figure it out somehow. There may be a student who would like to help prepare meals, or do a lot of that laundry, or sweep floors, dust, etc.
THANK YOU so much for doing the hymns at the end of your videos!! This is a GreaT thing!! Please consider doing this more!!
I get weepy as well Rob when I hear or see someone who needs something and nothing is being done. You are doing a fantastic job with Youth....God Bless you both!

Sooo...sooo glad the electric and heating will be sorted out with the help from the church.
Wonderfull perspective., everyone can be someone's light when they are in the dark! Beautiful, love the château!

I think it’s good for the students to pitch in and have scheduled chores. Beautiful hymn. Ive forgotten that one. We rarely sing the hymns like when I was a child in church.
Glad you guys are back safe. Thank you for playing that hymn and putting the words up. A very touching and true song of what Jesus does. BLessings.

Could you give the name of the restaurant, please 🙏
