San Juan is already the "Premier Surfing Destination of the Philippines" after hosted 2 International Surfing Events (SEA Games 2019 and World Surf League 2023) that's why some of the resorts, restos, clubs etc. were already quite expensive. There are still a lot of places in San Juan that are still affordable. You should really need to search and to know those affordable spots. You may also venture out at the Capital City of La Union which is in San Fernando because most restos, bars, hotels/ resorts are way more affordable than San Juan. Also, San Fernando has a known night market offering affordable Filipino/ Ilocano dishes and some International cuisines.
Usually tricycles at night time but there are also public jeepneys during the day. Jeepneys only charges just around 15 pesos per person and tricycles charges per ride (less than 2 dollars per ride within San Juan, 3 dollars San Juan to nearby town San Fernando City

How much are the tricycles? Is it per person or per ride? What transportation do locals take? I plan to visit and I will have no car.
