I think this movie is actually a lot more clever than people give it credit for. There is an interesting twist at the end, and no I don't mean why margaret leaves at 6 everyday. The movie leads us to believe that Mark is the main character in this story. We wake up with him everyday and follow him and see the events unfold through his eyes. However, we later learn (and so does Mark) that this is actually Margaret's story. She caused the time loop and when we start to wake up with her instead, the whole plot of this movie is recontextualized. It's about her dealing with the trauma of losing someone and learning how to let go.
Exactly. And that also helps reveal his own growth so his character does I think still end up having the biggest arc of the film. For her, it's a simple matter of him--the question MARK--for her, who is there to help her reach that stage of acceptance, while also along the way getting her to see that life may be kind of meaningless and nothing will ever remain perfect, but that's okay because of all the little things--those are what gives life meaning. In essence, watching this a few days after seeing the finale of "WandaVision" was a perfect little moment. Margaret and Wanda are kinda the same.
Yes I agree. The last minute focus to Margaret as it is actually her story was brilliant. I also interpreted it as another way of showing Mark's character growth. He spends most of the movie thinking only about himself and its only after that conversation with his sister does he realise this. Shortly after this he starts thinking more about others; going to his sisters soccer game, asking his dad about his civil war book, etc. So the switch to Margaret shows his character growth, as he realises its not his story its hers.
its not called clever its called lazy . i found this film lazy and unreasonable. if this film would have gave more time of them not scienceit would be better as we really wanted answers like how this happned. i mean when u make this type of movie wiith noanswer u have to be sure that audience dont ask why is it happening but enjoying the movie more
My interpretation was very different. It felt to me that the movie was all about Margareth losing her mother. When you lose someone you love (a romantic relationship, for example) you want time to stop and that is exactly what it feels like. I spent 5 months getting over my last relationship and it did feel like every day was the same. The same pain and the same thoughts, I couldn’t let go. But then, the time to move forward eventually came and I had to let go of everything. Finding the perfect little things is about falling in love with life again. And the guy she found was the last key she needed. Like meeting someone else to connect and love. I think the movie has a very beautiful message about how even when you think you’re all alone and you’re gonna be alone forever, someone is just gonna show up. Someone is going to stand out from everybody else. There is hope for the future. You just have to feel your emotions now and wait for your time to come.
The fact that the movie showcases the delight that is time bandits was enough for me, it was also just really feel good and sweet, and whilst ultimately not as good as Groundhog Day probably made a ton more sense than just randomly putting bill Murray in a hilarious situation!
I`m excited to Kathryn Newton in this movie, I love her in the t.v. show Supernatural, Kay Cannon`s Blockers, Rob Letterman`s Detective Pikachu and Blumhouse`s Freaky.
I watched this movie because I heard Remember When by wallows in the trailer, and it wasn't even in the movie, but I'm not even disappointed because I enjoyed it
Immediately recognized her, but I watched it because I liked the Groundhog Day time loop thing. And then my heart melted as I watched it. Damn movies, always making me emotional! My eyes are leaking
Thankfully someone talks about this movie. Actually, let me rephrase it - thankfully someone talks about a new movie... the "big" reviewers seem to be missing all the good films that have come out during the last 12 months or so, simply because theatres are closed and festivals are not happening 😒
@@butterbeetle5808 The boys in the band, The dig, Little big Women, The white tiger, News of the world, The Devil all the time, I'm thinking of ending things. Two very underrated sci-fi movies: In the shadow of the moon and The Midnight Sky
Im coming back to this comment after I watch the film I think the girl in the film is either dying or has someone near her dying bc she says in the trailer she wants to stay in that time forever so I'm guessing that he's gonna convince her to go back to normal time and someone will die
If you like action as well, then also check out "Edge of Tomorrow" (aka "Die Another Day") with Tom Cruise. Excellent execution of the repeating-day premise.
I loved this movie and this was definitely a movie I’m watching again in the upcoming month it’s just a genuine masterpiece and is one of my favorite prime movies up there with the tomorrow war

in my opinion its still Mark's story we only really get 15 minutes of Margaret's story at the end of the film
That's exactly why I liked it. It was basically paint by numbers until you get to that point

This movie is so cute !! it was simple, but really great for a teen movie. I recommend.
It was! Thanks for watching
It actually got really deep near the end. It was simple at first but it progressed into what really matters really well. This is a great movie.

Same lol. The trailer sold me but I enjoyed the movie
I also recommend the movie About Time for anyone who enjoyed this movie.
So this movie is basically like Groundhog Day, Happy Death Day, and Palm Springs?
The perfect way to describe it
Don't forget Edge of Tomorrow (aka Die Another Day), my favorite of the five, though this one is now the one more meaningful to me.
also like the show Russian Doll. i recommend that one, it’s on netflix
AGREED just watched it last night. Definitely a good watch
Okay so the main actor looks like a reincarnation of Heath Ledger right?
I watched this movie because of kathyerin newton aka Claire Novak from supernatural who ever did the same do let me know 💛💛

I mean, considering its one of the few movies to come out at all during the pandemic, I don't know how they could've missed it.
@@cosmicremix311 A lot of good movies have come out during the pandemic, I could write a long list. They're just released on streaming services
Write the list @.@

Other than the fact that the movie is good, Kyle Allen is poor man's Thomas mann is just about all I have to say about this movie.
Is this movie good for date night?
