    I’m impressed by the Filipino phrases you both have learned from listening to Filipinos sing. I’m a fil/am and the last time I’ve been in the Phils, I was so amazed at the many foreigners there who spoke fluent Tagalog. It’s not hard to learn and some so fluent that you can’t even tell they’re not Filipinos . Koreans, Vietnamese, Chinese, Americans, Europeans so many can speak Tagalog . Please go visit the Philippines but be prepared to be overwhelmed 😃

    • @loryasis7837
      @loryasis7837 2 года назад +8

      Not that hard to learn? Dude. Tagalog is more complicated than English. Those foreigners probably grew up there or have been living there the majority of their lives. Even east asians who live there for so long can only speak barok or broken tagalog. And those who grew up outside of the Philippines with Filipino household and Filipino parent/s cannot speak it fluently.

    Attending parties abroad, the host, obviously a Pinoy, has to ready her karaoke machine. Then everyone looks at the "list' = book to ready or queue his/her song. No one goes home unless he/she sings, that's a contract! When one struggles (tempo, off-tune, etc.) we'd sing in unison to rescue the singer out especially if the latter is about to give up. Then when our turn is done, we have the permission to leave the party. Non-pinoy guests, more often than not, would just keep quiet because we're so loud cheering, encouraging (the shy type), and talking at the same time!

    This is just a theory but I think the unacknowledged first lesson Filipino singers learn is listening. They listen to the original tracks to emulate the sounds. Later, they learn how to listen to their voices and how it fits in a song. At a higher level of singing, they listen to their environment e.g. the audio system, the background noise, crowd; and deliver the piece accordingly.

    I love how your Filipino phrases now all sound so natural. 🥰
    Singing relay like this is usually for songs that are quite difficult to sing. The singing phrases are determined by the one who holds the mic because he/she decides when to give the mic to the next singer in line. The one singing usually drags the singing phrases to challenge the next singer. Try to observe and you'll see that the microphone is usually passed when the next singing phrase is to be belted or requires high notes. Yeah... it's like wanting for the next singer in line to fail but at the same time surprise you with his singing ability. Hahahahah!

    Singing is life in the Philippines..it's a part of our life,..we sing if we are happy, if we are sad, if we are bored, if we are inspired, if we are broken heart and in pain, when we are in bathroom taking shower, if we are cleaning the house and washing are clothes, if we are walking in the streets, if we are listening to musics and dueting the artist who are singing..very normal to us coz already part of our daily lives..karaoke are a must in every household specially every weekends that our family bonding day..and most specially every special occasions like birthdays, Christmas and New year's,..that's why even young kids have already good singing voice because they grow in that scenario 🥰🥰🥰

    I think singing is so natural to us Filipinos. It's like swaying to the rhythm of the breeze and to the tempo of the waves. The changing seasons with Northeast, Southwest monsoons to Easterlies is like changing of music genre. Our belting prowess comes from shouting every gusts of the typhoons we encounter, from the violent earthquakes and volcanic eruptions. We scream to release our fear. Singing is a way of life, from birth to mourning, from planting to harvest, from courting to marriage, from isolation to festivities, all comes with music and singing is an expression to all of it.😄

    Fave line of the day: 12:24 to quote Efra " Please I will only do this with fellow Filipinos'... " Geez, you are indeed fast becoming a Filipino, in thoughts and in deeds! Just a suggestion, why don't you set up a Zoom party wherein people who will attend will partake in an online singing challenge just like they do in the PH. If that works it can be fun since people from different regions and countries can participate...
    In my opinion, it's a given that if you can sing you can dance (or vice versa) singing and dancing require an understanding of rhythm and tempo. In dancing, body movements follow the rhythm...

    It is so funny when you suggested we try the Singing Relay, I started listing down some friends who would be willing to do this challenge and believe it or not, 9 out of 10 are definitely good singers. And yours truly (smacks lips and pauses for a while) will be that 1 out of 10 who could be an okay singer and could carry a tune when my life depends on it 😅😅

    Hi. I hope you two will see this comment. Ever considered reacting to Filipino Festivals? Like singing, dancing, drummers in group - and many more! anything you wish to see about the life of festivals in the Philippines!! If ever you consider reacting to Filipino festivals, you should check the performance of "Tribu Dagatnon Drummer's - Iloilo Dinagyang Festival 2018". I think Efra is a drummer by experience, too. maybe he will take interest in this recommendation. The drummers were soooo good and amazing. You should check that out for starters, I think.
    I repeat: Tribu Dagatnon Drummer's - Iloilo Dinagyang Festival 2018. That's all! Thank you for your wonderful reactions!

    "...Just all of the sudden im about to become MADRIGAL SINGEEEEER!...." this really cracked me up Efra (and not helping with how your face look like when you said that 😄) but its true though, did not expect that harmony at the end. Maybe they are some sort of a choire singers coz that harmony cant just come out of no where unless they've been singing togethet for quite a while.....or they are just that gaddamn good in impromptu harmony 😄. Love your reaction to this. I was wondering if you reacted to this since i saw this one yesterday, and im glad you guys enjoyed it. 😊

    I think 9 out of 10 is such a high percentage, 7-8 out of 10 is more realistic which is still remarkable. For this group all the people you see can sing but maybe there are some not seen in the video who just sit it out because they are not really good in singing. And as you know that most of those that are good in singing are not musically trained. When you join this types of games, no one will tell you that you're sharp or flat or you're off tune but they will just hear that something is odd. But that does not mean that those who are not good in singing are not allowed in this kinds of games because in the first place they just do it for fun, there is no descrimination and everybody has an equal opportunity to sing.
