The main reason for such a sad exit from the Country is because of incompetent marketing professionals works in Ford , if they wud have really do their job by closely monitoring the latest market trends and what the market like India actually needs, may be there will be a great chance to establish themselves in future years and which in turn that the hierarchy cud further more invest in market like in India. And I really guess Honda, Renault-Nissan, Toyota cud also follows the footsteps of Ford and this is what I really thinks myself as an Automotive Professional!
Definitely for Toyota, Nissan and Renault, but I don't think it will happen with Honda. Also came across news that Nissan has already stopped few dealerships in some parts (not sure).

Since I live in the middle east, I could see how the Kia's and Chinese car brands have taken over the market over the last couple of years. I believe that the value car buyers used to associate with the big brands like Ford, Chevrolet or even Toyota are on a steady decline. I doubt whether a couple of decades down the line cars also would become like "commodities" in it's economic sense.
Exactly even ford is declining in middle East because of Chinese and kia itself. Sad that it is going down same with GM, subaru ,honda and yea toyota is top but they had also dipped the sales
To be honest even Kia has dipped down the last year in UAE due to unheard Chinese brands like Baic, Soueast and Changan and all. Years back people never considered to buy a Chinese Car due to poor build quality, no proper parts and yes the Chinese Name Tag but even if these brands have successfully emerged it has affected all non Chinese brands especially detroit based Ford, GM, FCA. It's really sad to see ford declining in India and UAE.
@@sachutony Chinese cars sales are not consistent if I remember JAC and Geely were doing well couple of years back now we no longer see those cars. Now people buy MG and Changan but those cars are still horrible after a while nobody will buy those as well.

I had booked an EcoSport in mid April even after 2 months of the dealer not able to do any ETA on delivery and the rumour that ford might exit the market, I was confused on what to do. Sad fact that Ford is pulling the plug. When Fiat was about to stop Punto, booked an emotion variant from the dealership in Trivandrum but did not materialize as stocks ran out. Dealerships may have stocks and there could be heavy discounts. Spare parts issue is over hyped. The Ford cars are pretty good to drive and if a dealer offers with good discounts, good time to buy a Ford.

I knew that this was coming , we own a Figo 2014 and my dad wanted to upgrade to Ecosport last year which I luckily refused. The product line that Ford was offering didn't add value. Consumer buying behaviour has changed with the digitalization and increase in purchasing power in the country. Now we see ppl buying there first car in 10-14L range and in Ford they only offered the Ecosport. I also own a Skoda Fabia , basis on my experience of owning a discontinued car. I could say there may be some issues with parts especially exterior components probably for cars that Ford sold less. With this my respect for Skoda/VW has increased even with less volumes both have introduced new products. Hope it continues!
I have decided to get a compact SUV one month back and then going through all those b segments, I found that Ecosport was the benchmark and No other cars can replace it in the segment even thought ecosport was never in my list. Made booking for it one month back ignoring all the Odds about Fords future. Now i feel it's difficult to find a VFM replacement for the same. Sad!
I booked Ecosport 6 months back and the dealership used to give me all sort of excuse and yesterday the sales executive texted me on WhatsApp saying that Ford has stopped their operations in India. These people didn’t even care to make call and say this instead they decided to send a text. Ford is making huge profits in North America from F150/Lightning,Bronco3/5 Door,Maverick,Lincoln's new SUVs etc. ,thats also a reason because they have more demand than supply in that market,this is aggravated by the global chip shortage
Ford left North American Market, not only there they left Brazil, Russia, Indonesia, Japan, Belgium, Australia and now India. Ford is struggling world wide.

Nothing will happen to Nissan-Renault, there sales are good, they are launching India friendly cars but the major thing is they are exporting more than what they sell in India. Nissan-Renault make both LHD & RHD vehicles in India. Along most of they have part sharing agreement so that production cost is very less. If you see much of there models are identical with minimal changes.
@@reachnir Magnite sells over 2,000 every month with close to 3,000 units sold in August 2021. Now, they need to follow this up with more well timed launches to reach higher volumes so that the dealerships/service stations can sustain themselves.

Hi bros, how safe and secure is to buy any non indian car in the future?today it is ford, tomorrow it can be anybody except maruti.. Unfortunately I am a 1 year old ford figo owner.
Already they have way more sales. Actually they don't care Ford's presence in india, Figo and freestyle are sold in single and double digits. Only Ecosport had some sales. Funny thing is even Tata has way better sales than Ford with poor quality engines and reliability. Tata impoved the sales by marketing gimmicks, unfortunately Ford didn't did that.

Chinese great wall motors has plans to introduce their Haval brand in India..Most probably they will buy one of the plants of Ford just like MG brought GM plant in India..
@@aravindar522 Though you are not wrong, intelligent marketing like any other should be of utmost importance to a volume manufacturer and Ford India somehow managed to royally screw that up. As far as Tata goes, they improved their sales through marketing I give you that. But they marketed on what they were actually good at ie giving solidly built cars (safety) and that showed on their products as well, which inturn is what made people to buy their cars. In fact their marketing team was so good, I'd go as far as to say that they managed to educate the average Indian buyer on the importance of safety. If they can make people to overlook their cons and buy their cars, so can Ford. Good marketing is always welcome.
@@vishnupillai300 They dropped the plan they were planning to buy Chevrolet plant now they dropped the whole India investment plan. Other possibility would have been Changan now I don't think they'll come.

I think from financial point, ford india is never profitable to parent company at any point of time.. But on top it started accumulating such big losses... 2 billion.. Going to miss some of the best drivers cars.. Anyway i plan to keep my old ford figo 2012 tdci as it is aging well..even after 1.4 lakh km..Running still smooth... Still gives smile on my face when i take it for a spin..
Good video. As a Ford Ecosport owner, watched this with lot of anxiety and heaviness. Should we sell the vehicle or keep it if it is automatic with 2 year old vehicle? What all brands do u feel can exit. We can be careful while buying such brands. Can Toyota and VW be the next based on lack of new models and overall sales performance in India.

The main reason for such a sad exit from the Country is because of incompetent marketing professionals works in Ford , if they wud have really do their job by closely monitoring the latest market trends and what the market like India actually needs, may be there will be a great chance to establish themselves in future years and which in turn that the hierarchy cud further more invest in market like in India. And I really guess Honda, Renault-Nissan, Toyota cud also follows the footsteps of Ford and this is what I really thinks myself as an Automotive Professional!

Since I live in the middle east, I could see how the Kia's and Chinese car brands have taken over the market over the last couple of years. I believe that the value car buyers used to associate with the big brands like Ford, Chevrolet or even Toyota are on a steady decline. I doubt whether a couple of decades down the line cars also would become like "commodities" in it's economic sense.
Exactly even ford is declining in middle East because of Chinese and kia itself. Sad that it is going down same with GM, subaru ,honda and yea toyota is top but they had also dipped the sales
To be honest even Kia has dipped down the last year in UAE due to unheard Chinese brands like Baic, Soueast and Changan and all. Years back people never considered to buy a Chinese Car due to poor build quality, no proper parts and yes the Chinese Name Tag but even if these brands have successfully emerged it has affected all non Chinese brands especially detroit based Ford, GM, FCA. It's really sad to see ford declining in India and UAE.

@@sachutony Chinese cars sales are not consistent if I remember JAC and Geely were doing well couple of years back now we no longer see those cars. Now people buy MG and Changan but those cars are still horrible after a while nobody will buy those as well.

I had booked an EcoSport in mid April even after 2 months of the dealer not able to do any ETA on delivery and the rumour that ford might exit the market, I was confused on what to do. Sad fact that Ford is pulling the plug. When Fiat was about to stop Punto, booked an emotion variant from the dealership in Trivandrum but did not materialize as stocks ran out. Dealerships may have stocks and there could be heavy discounts. Spare parts issue is over hyped. The Ford cars are pretty good to drive and if a dealer offers with good discounts, good time to buy a Ford.

Why mainly US car manufactures exit from India? any specific reasons?
I knew that this was coming , we own a Figo 2014 and my dad wanted to upgrade to Ecosport last year which I luckily refused. The product line that Ford was offering didn't add value. Consumer buying behaviour has changed with the digitalization and increase in purchasing power in the country. Now we see ppl buying there first car in 10-14L range and in Ford they only offered the Ecosport.
I also own a Skoda Fabia , basis on my experience of owning a discontinued car. I could say there may be some issues with parts especially exterior components probably for cars that Ford sold less.
With this my respect for Skoda/VW has increased even with less volumes both have introduced new products. Hope it continues!

I have decided to get a compact SUV one month back and then going through all those b segments, I found that Ecosport was the benchmark and No other cars can replace it in the segment even thought ecosport was never in my list. Made booking for it one month back ignoring all the Odds about Fords future. Now i feel it's difficult to find a VFM replacement for the same. Sad!

I booked Ecosport 6 months back and the dealership used to give me all sort of excuse and yesterday the sales executive texted me on WhatsApp saying that Ford has stopped their operations in India. These people didn’t even care to make call and say this instead they decided to send a text. Nothing will happen to Nissan-Renault, there sales are good, they are launching India friendly cars but the major thing is they are exporting more than what they sell in India. Nissan-Renault make both LHD & RHD vehicles in India. Along most of they have part sharing agreement so that production cost is very less. If you see much of there models are identical with minimal changes.

Already they have way more sales. Actually they don't care Ford's presence in india, Figo and freestyle are sold in single and double digits. Only Ecosport had some sales. Funny thing is even Tata has way better sales than Ford with poor quality engines and reliability. Tata impoved the sales by marketing gimmicks, unfortunately Ford didn't did that.

Chinese great wall motors has plans to introduce their Haval brand in India..Most probably they will buy one of the plants of Ford just like MG brought GM plant in India..
@@aravindar522 Though you are not wrong, intelligent marketing like any other should be of utmost importance to a volume manufacturer and Ford India somehow managed to royally screw that up. As far as Tata goes, they improved their sales through marketing I give you that. But they marketed on what they were actually good at ie giving solidly built cars (safety) and that showed on their products as well, which inturn is what made people to buy their cars. In fact their marketing team was so good, I'd go as far as to say that they managed to educate the average Indian buyer on the importance of safety. If they can make people to overlook their cons and buy their cars, so can Ford. Good marketing is always welcome.

I think from financial point, ford india is never profitable to parent company at any point of time.. But on top it started accumulating such big losses... 2 billion.. Going to miss some of the best drivers cars.. Anyway i plan to keep my old ford figo 2012 tdci as it is aging well..even after 1.4 lakh km..Running still smooth... Still gives smile on my face when i take it for a spin..
My Honda amaze diesel covered 1.7 laks kms.....

Good video. As a Ford Ecosport owner, watched this with lot of anxiety and heaviness. Should we sell the vehicle or keep it if it is automatic with 2 year old vehicle? What all brands do u feel can exit. We can be careful while buying such brands. Can Toyota and VW be the next based on lack of new models and overall sales performance in India.

It's better to sell asap bcoz the resale value will definitely come down. Else use it to the maximum and sell after couple of years
