    I saw the title of this video and got so excited. I'm currently working on building a large dining room table, butcherblock style, from pallets. I was really hoping to learn something, but there was nothing to be learned from this video. Instead it was just a silent video documentary about some guy doing something somewhere at some time.

    Typically I day-dream about getting into my shop while I'm at the day job, but once I get home other tasks take over (homework with the kid, honey-do lists from my wife, just normal chores, etc.). I think I create barriers for myself, to be honest, because I'm a little intimidated by what I need to do to create a special piece (newbie), even though I look forward to designing the build itself. But I have to say, right after I watch one of your videos it really inspires me to get back in there make something happen. I'm hoping to enter the TBC Mini Challenge and you got me feeling some type of way about it. So, thanks Jackman! I always look forward to your new video releases, you do a great job. I know video editing is a ton of work and your effort shows!

      Just always remember to be patient. Skills take tons of time to acquire, plus any good project is going to take a lot of effort. Stick with it!

    • @leifhietala8074
      @leifhietala8074 4 года назад

      Don't worry about creating a special piece. Just create something! You build skills with practice. Find some cast off pallets and build something rough, find another and dress up the lumber, build something nicer. Find another, dress up the lumber and make it into larger, more substantial lumber, make something awesome. Lather, rinse, repeat.

You are a very professional youtuber and craftsman! I watch a dozen other woodworking channels, but this one seems to best in its class. You just got a new suscriber! WOW Jackman , crazy awesome project. Speaking of crazy you are definitely a little on OCD side, which makes for some incredible projects. Keep'em coming rain man.

    Your project tend toward tedious, complex, hugely multi-step designs. You mention this complex project being rewarding. I was wondering when you're in the middle of a project like this, how do you stay motivated and keep pushing through?

      Just keep a picture in your head of the final project or a goal that you want to achieve with the final project. I make a rendering of most of my projects first, so it's always good to look back at those for a reminder of what it'll look like after all the hard work is done

    I love watching your videos. They are soooooooo much more / better than "Now I'll run these through my planer" videos. Entertaining, informative, idea creating. I was quite literally on the edge of my chair waiting to see how this was going to end!
    One question for you, and I'm just curious, not critical. Why did you use the router for the biscuits instead of just using a biscuit joiner?
    Thanks for putting this together. Made my day.

      I've found that the biscuit jointer is always slightly out of square or doesn't align perfectly, but with that Rockler router bit, the biscuits fit perfect every time. It's my first time doing it that way, but I'll keep doing that from now on.
      Thanks for the love!!
