This is the kind of Team edge/Matthias content I’ve always wanted. I love the challenge and sports videos, but I’m glad to have some videos that appeal to an older audience as well.
My wife and I got a5 Japanese wagyu just 4 days before you made this video and your reactions were exactly what ours were. Love the channel learning a lot from you guys and from Bryan when it comes to cooking steak!
The absolute best channel + content on RUclips. I just got into making steaks not even a year ago and I've certainly got some work to do. I love learning new things about one of my favorite foods! Thanks guys.
First episode I've seen from this channel, and almost done watching the rest. This is by far my favorite one. A nice and leisurely pace for proper conversation with interesting topics, though the longer episodes you've made have had excellent conversations. The steak is there and is definitely exciting, but the conversation takes center stage.
I really liked this episode, and I like seeing that they not only focus so much on steak too (even though that's kinda the why they're there lol). The topic of alcohol interested me though because as someone who lives in Europe, and as someone who has been of legal drinking age for about 1,5 years, I think it has a lot to do with how you were raised. I was raised by parents who enjoy a light drink ever so often, especially on the weekends, but there was never a conversation like "you wanna try a drink with us?" even when I turned 18 (aka legal drinking age here). they've never said I can't drink per say, and I think it has to do with their trust in my ability to control how much I drink etc. and my ability to know when to stop. But I do feel that temptation to just go out and get really drunk at least once. That was my long conclusion lol hopefully someone enjoys to read this.
In my experience in the UK, alcohol is introduced at a young age through parties. I remember that people start drinking properly around 13 years old, even though the legal age to buy alcohol is 18. You are either of the two here either not really interested in alcohol or love it. But because it's introduced so young it's kind of a part of the culture of lots of drinking parties, and I'd say it doesn't really slow down for a lot of people until late 20s @HighSteaks.
10:25 Depends on your price point. Since you don't like Whiskey, you probably don't want to go expensive so Elijah Craig or Eagle Rare are probably decent options on the lower end of price points. If you don't mind going a bit more expensive Japanese Whiskey will likely be more tolerable to somebody that doesn't like whiskey since it tends to be less harsh.
As always the steaks are gorgeous! Since we are talking liquor I would like to toss in my hat.. I recommend Glenfiddich 21. :) Pairs well with a good medium rare to rare steak.
I work in a bottleshop in Australia. We have something called Small Batch Learning that we are encouraged to do by our bosses to learn about different alcohol types and brands. For every lesson we complete, we receive a "badge" and I currently have over 200 (most in my district) Matt, it sounds like you don't like the burn from drinking dark liquor. I'm the exact same, which is why I prefer to drink Gin. Dark liquors (Rum, Whiskey, Bourbon, ect) are aged and flavored in barrels that have had the insides charred. The char has a number of effects, but one of them is that from the char comes Vanilla. And it is the vanilla that causes that burning in your throat. When I found out about this, I tried to find dark liquors that had been aged for less amounts of time. The one I found that became a personal favorite is Chivas Regal 12 Year. Which is a Scotch Whiskey Blend. I hope this was helpful (I also hope it was accurate, it's been a while since I read up on my liquors...) (Also, you said you like Gin, I would highly recommend Four Pillars Gin and if you like flavoured Gins, I would recommend Four Pillars Shiraz Gin and Malfys Gin. These are personal favorites of mine.)
Nice whiskeys to try are Speyside single malt scotches. Good entry whiskeys, matured in Sherrry casks. Aberlour 12 or Glendronach 12 are very approachable.
Matt- I would recommend woodford reserve, Bulleit, teeling, and crown Royale apple. These would be best for someone who isn’t a big fan of whiskey but would like to get into whiskey in my personal experience
Try an Orkney Scotch. Made in the Orkney isles off the north coast of Scotland. Scotch has very different flavors depending on where is made. Orkney, Speyside, and highland are some of the varieties
Those whiskeys you showed Matthias were great. I'd also recommend a few more if you're interested: Buffalo Trace (He's probably had it, but it's a good one if you're new to it) Jack Daniel's Single Barrel Tennessee Whiskey and Single Barrel Rye are both fantastic High West Bourbon or Rye Those are all lower/middle end that I think would give him good variety and that Bryan would also potentially enjoy!
A fun bit of information regarding why the smell of the steaks cooking, especially ones as fatty as wagyu, reminds you of McD's french fries :) "McDonald's in the US did use beef tallow (fat) in its fries but replaced it with vegetable oil in the 1990s. It does however use "natural beef flavour" in the oil blend that the fries are cooked in before being frozen and shipped to stores around the nation."
Genuinely didn’t know that tequila is like champagne in that it’s only allowed to be called that if it’s from a certain place. Thank you editor, I’ve learned something today!
Not going to lie. I never had Bourbon, my go to drink before I got in Recovery was JD. But now I’m 6 years sober and I celebrated 6 years on the 28th of April. Don’t know if you guys really care about Sobriety? New brand of Wagu : Amerigan Wagu Steak. Tased finest to the average American. You gotta love the sound of that Sizzle such a beautiful sound. Almost as beautiful as a harp sound.
I think that potato is possible to be liked more than steak.... so many good things.... would I choose fries or a baked potato or anything like that over steak not normally, but maybe.
Hey so Brit here, we can legally buy alcohol at 18 but can drink it technically from 6 in our own homes. People do go crazy but we do it more at like 14 then clubs at 18, most people start drinking age 13-14. British drinking culture is slightly different tho cause we have pubs etc. as well as bars and people drink here a LOT like there is nothing really to do past 8pm on any given day if you don't want to be somewhere that serves alcohol. I wouldn't say our relationships with alcohol are really healthier than Americans cause I've known people get their stomachs pumped after parties etc. just a lot of Brits can drink a lot of booze 😆
lol Bourbon and Whisky tastes like it's been sitting in a wooden barrels for years, and decades on end.... Hence, my fascination with Brandy... Love it.
Here in Denmark, kids are going to parties and getting drunk at the age of 13. We're allowed to buy alcohol at the age of 16, but we can drink it at any age.
about the beer thing, i'm from belgium and we drink from our 16, im 23 now and i dont uderstnad how they go crazy when drinking. I personally prefere to drink a Westmalle triper or gulden draak with friends and just slowly and eating or talking or playing pool. never understood the binge drinkning part because we got to drink on our 16 we got used to it quicker maybe
I watched the Modern Rogues take a Whisky class... if I remember correctly, Whiskey orginates from Ireland and has the E, Whisky without the E is Scottish or like an off-brand. Bourbon is an American imitation or equivalent, and has to be 51% corn.
10:23 Glenfiddich 15 Johnny Walker Black Label Johnny Walker Blue Johnny Walker Island Green Teeling Vintage Reserve Single Cask 24 Bruichladdich Classic Laddie Octomore Port Charlotte Have fun!
Absolutely love this channel. I do love steak, but Matthias and Bryan eating steak and talking is even better.
So glad this channel is uploading more often. I enjoy the casual chat over beautiful steaks. Only problem is I’m always so hungry after lol.
The best cure to being hungry is also being poor
Probably the one channel where Brian is the one trying to educate and Matt is the goofy one lol, we love it
This is the kind of Team edge/Matthias content I’ve always wanted. I love the challenge and sports videos, but I’m glad to have some videos that appeal to an older audience as well.
These videos offer such chill vibes, but with some good laughs too. Keep it up!
Best episode yet, love the contrast of trying liquor with the steaks, added a fun dynamic to the conversations
I love this channel! Good food and good conversation. Hanging out with your brother. A beautiful, blessed time.

I love this stuff! I'd support you guys doing a podcast and just talk about stuff for real!
I really liked this episode, and I like seeing that they not only focus so much on steak too (even though that's kinda the why they're there lol). Can you guys also do Charcuterie boards and wine tasting? 😄😄 I think some people would enjoy that (me, I'm the people).
I love watching y'all!!! Y'all need to do reverse seared steaks
I love the longer videos hour is a personal favorite but regardless like the longer videos Thank You :D
One of my favorite RUclips channels! Always look forward to the next video! Keep it up y’all!!
Idk what is it about this channel but it’s relaxing 😌
Such a random series, but I love watching these videos man. Makes me wanna get a beer and make steaks.
I don’t know how I missed this upload! But am very happy I got something to watch this morning! 😁
when it comes to plating rice, ice cream scoops tend to work really well to keep the round shape!

Yes it was a great episode, this one was my favorite so far. 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
fantastic episode High Steaks!
been waiting for this new episode for ages
As always the steaks are gorgeous!

This channel deserves more subs than it has.

Got to love these videos
Neither of you had to question it, definitely a good episode ☺️☺️
I love Kentucky straight with steak 👌
Absolute Dad channel vibes and I am here for it.
Matt- I would recommend woodford reserve, Bulleit, teeling, and crown Royale apple. These would be best for someone who isn’t a big fan of whiskey but would like to get into whiskey in my personal experience
I want a directors cut where we get to hear everything that Matt said about stainless steel vs cast iron, I was genuinely interested.
Keep the whiskey coming. My fav episode yet!
I love this channel how its the old gang back together ♥️
love these, super chill
need nice chill guests tho :D
My absolute favorite podcast with my favorite people :D
If you want to get into whiskey, I'd recommend Beer Barrel whiskey since it's smooth and easy for first-timers.
Please keep these videos coming on a more regular basis! Best vids
Bryan really looks like a fine PAPA!
Try an Orkney Scotch. Made in the Orkney isles off the north coast of Scotland. Scotch has very different flavors depending on where is made. Orkney, Speyside, and highland are some of the varieties
I love this channel! Can't wait to try wagyu one day!
Bryan... the squirrel should be released into the wild 😂
Wild Turkey or Early Times whiskey. My dad drinks those and it's something I am used to. The taste is great on both.
Those whiskeys you showed Matthias were great. I'd also recommend a few more if you're interested:
Buffalo Trace (He's probably had it, but it's a good one if you're new to it)
Jack Daniel's Single Barrel Tennessee Whiskey and Single Barrel Rye are both fantastic
High West Bourbon or Rye
Those are all lower/middle end that I think would give him good variety and that Bryan would also potentially enjoy!
highland park whisky, best scottish whisky made on the orkney islands off the north of scotland. would defo recommend. love the vids guys keep it up.
Bro I could care less about stake or alcohol, but y’all make me laugh out loud when I’m standing alone in my house 😂😂

YESSSS! ANOTHER EPISODEEE
Genuinely didn’t know that tequila is like champagne in that it’s only allowed to be called that if it’s from a certain place. Thank you editor, I’ve learned something today!
Most liquors are like that. Bourbon, for example, has to be made in the USA.
Bryan’s hair is just absolutely immaculate ✨✨

Really love high steaks, they are so funny and the steaks look great!
Finally back
You guys are awesome! Nuff said.
this backyard brought to you by team edge. well done, bryan.
Bryan's mustache I cannot xD 😅😅😅
10:24 Red Breast 12 Cask Strength is far and away my favorite whiskey.
As someone born and raised in Kansas, I have never met anyone named "Angus". 😂😂
I like how Matt just uses ChatGPT as a Google replacement
I just watched the whole thing and it was awesome
How?
@@FharishAhmedPortfolio Watched it on 30x playback speed
@@whoknows2061 Flash? Is that you? Please don't rip a time vortex again! Supaman is no here!
As a Scot, any proper Scottish whisky like Lagavulin, Talisker or Bunnahabhain ❤
FINALLYYYYY
I will always love Matts laugh 🤣😂
I love this channel so much 😂😂
May I also suggest learning and implementing new or experimental ways on cooking the streaks just to also keep variety of content fresh sometimes.
I think that potato is possible to be liked more than steak.... so many good things.... would I choose fries or a baked potato or anything like that over steak not normally, but maybe.
Two whiskeys I recommend:
Woodford Reserve and Auchentoshan

Bryan's got such a sick mustache now, I really wanna see how he would look with a beard, he would look so cool with one.
I love how we see the normal men inside the kid friendly channel members
YESS THEYRE BACK!!
Y’all should try and do a normal seer and crust with steak from 3 different local farms
Brian, I love your mustache
Not Mat quoting Ryan George😂😂😂
wow 15 seconds after the upload and im here
as someone from iowa. black angus is going to be your typical beef/steak cow, occasionally red angus
Oye, Brian and Matt, where should we buy this steak, you guys convinced me to try some.
I'm lovin the mustache!
I always prefer a cast iron pan that is well seasoned compared to a stainless steel, it definitely heats better and gives a better crust on steak
lol Bourbon and Whisky tastes like it's been sitting in a wooden barrels for years, and decades on end....
Hence, my fascination with Brandy... Love it.
The mustache is epic
I would love you guys to try all Australia steaks please
You both should drink Crown Royal whiskey. They have many flavors, and the vanilla one is great mixed with Dr. Pepper.

Fun fact. McDonalds stopped using beef tallow to cook their fries in the 80’s

Angel's Envy finished Rye is my favorite.
Yeah they were definitely feeling that bourbon 😂
a good gin to try is a Hinata small batch japanese gin
