- With Nigeria's population growing at more than 3% a year, Nigerian authorities are offering free family planning methods and advice to Nigerian families in an effort to slow population growth. Nigeria, which already has the most people in Africa, is projected to have more than 400 million people by 2050, double the number of today. Timothy Obiezu has more from Abuja.

This will be bad for Nigeria. If they shared their wealth with double the population everyone would be poorer than if they shared it with the current population. Hopefully people will focus on empowering one or two kids, not trying to raise 6.
@Bjarnþór Wealth isn't a measure of population, some of the richest countries like Norway and Sweden have few people. Nigeria is a small country land wise but is massive with people, they should focus on spreading resources with the poor people they already have, not making more.
China is taking all their wealth. The Nigerian government is on the hook to China like most other nations.
I think some countries can learn from the US about our laws and policies. Sure, they ain't perfect, but at least they're better than nothing.
