I've got one of those stoves, I picked it up as part of the Kickstarter. Nice piece of kit. Reminiscent of the old caldera cone. Works really nicely, very windproof.
Hi Mick, thanks a lot for your review and your honest opinion. The cone will loosen a little bit up after a few more uses as well as putting it together gets easier over time. Thanks Stripey
Might be expensive but I’ve seen lots of videos on similar stoves and how hard they are to get Paul Messner uses an original I think regularly Being lightweight I’m sure they’ll take off. Good luck to them Great video Mick (aka the crooning biker) Come summer why not do a singing bike ride crooning with a microphone Happy days Take care Regards Jeff
@jeffprice2210 Hahaha I'll be at Glastonbury this summer Jeff 🤣🤣 yeh the stormin Norman was the original and as you say one of the best stoves out there 👍
Always good to see your videos Mick - about the bike ... the way that stem protrudes over the top of the bars could cause you a mischief if you come off. Don't mean to be a nit picker but I've fallen off them things often enough to be careful.
Hi Mick. Nice bit of kit. Bit out of my price range. There is something similar from speedster stoves. Check em out. Also I've just temued myself a wood burning stove which I'm looking forward to playing with. What's the weather like up your way? No snow here thank goodness!
@saxoncrow2500 Hi Si, yeh not budget like my usual lol, it's been bitterly cold day temps staying around -3 last few days and dry but as I'm sat here now the snow is coming down heavy 👍
Dude, you're going to need a warehouse with all this new gear you're getting. lol. I'm still sticking with a twig stove, or my trusty gas burner or preferably a natural fire. You do tempt me though with these trangia cookers.
Might want to look into Biolight stove or grill... NOT a lightweight or cheap one, but you can charge anything with a USB port while it's burning. I got the stove and grill set myself
£90!!! I have spent similar money on stoves, mainly coleman, because I like them, but seriously! 90 for that! I feel like I've just watched someone pay £90 for a quarter of a plate of posh food in an over priced restaurant. Really Less IS NOT More, Less is Less. That is a bit of tin-sheet a cup and a little tub. The Chinese will knock it out for $5 and make a profit.
Carry lots of bandages or wear some gloves putting it together especially with cold hands you will get cuts from that stand . Orange disappears in red light. Have fun stay safe.
I knew what I was getting, I just purchased a second one today during Sebastian’s Black Friday sale as these may get hard to get on the future, just saying
@OJ4HIRE Why do you think they will become hard to get? They should actually become cheaper. They should be £75, not £99. They are over charging. There's a lot of options in that price range of £99. There's a lot of options for a lot less too. I've a multi fuel stove, it's stainless steel so of course it's probably 5 times or more heavier than your stove but it was less than half the price. I've had it for years and I have used it about a dozen times. It really owes me nothing. I'd need to be using a camp stove every week to justify spending £99 on just one stove. I'm not an ultra light guy so price matters more than weight.
@ well I also have grandkids that I am passing heirlooms too so an extra stove or two doesn’t hurt right lol 😂 well the price hurts a bit, your points are correct by the way
@OJ4HIRE I looked on the site at the product before commenting so I had some idea of what they were offering for £99. I am not knocking the stove design or quality it just seems a bit pricey for all you get. And now this design is out there it's only a matter of time before there's knock-offs available for less. Knock-offs could put someone like this out of business. I don't usually buy clone's, for quality reasons, I don't like knock-offs and prefer the real thing.
