Repairing a code 1 fault on my caravan Thetford N175 fridge.I replaced the mains heating element. The video shows the part, where i acquired it from, fitting it to the fridge.
Some interesting info, thanks. Just for reference you had the meter on 200 kilo ohms range, that’s why it’s reading 0.2 . The heating element is around 200 ohms. Good to see the heater swap, I’ve still to swap mine out and the caravans only been used a dozen times. Thetford really do make junk.
Brilliant video. I have the same fault. I’m praying this is my fault also as they don’t support my fridge anymore. Looks like Elements are still available.
Excellent work. Very detailed (really, really detailed - nothing left on the editing room floor!!!) and really helped me diagnose and fix my N150 fridge.
Brilliant, thank you very much for taking the time to do this. Fault finding was very useful for me to identify what was broken. Shame I haven’t the same fridge. Cheers, ATB. Mark.
Hi liked the video of replacement of 240v fridge element but no relevant information on what wires go where on the pcb, ie ac high and ac low. Both wires are brown and no indication of where each wire goes or how to distinguish each wire.
Definitely had to pull out the fridge. The reason was that I had to unclip the gas exhaust shroud to access the mains heating element. Plus it would have been impossible with the fridge in situ.
The fridge worked on gas . So I checked the 240v heating element with a multi meter and it showed a fault. I had also Googled common faults with this particular fridge. Turns out this fault is fairly common.
ah ok, thanks for letting me know, I have the same on my fridge but didnt want to order part if it was just a fuse. thank you great video. very helpful
@@brianphelan74 Was it easy to check the element with the fridge in situe or did you remove the fridge first? also can you check the 3 fuses with the fridge still installed?

You are BRILL for making this video and describing so well what you were doing, thanks very much.
Great video man thank you so much 🎉
Thanks a lot my N175 Fridge is showing the same code and this has been a tremendous help, thanks again
Brilliant. Thanks for taking the time to film this. Im just about to do mine and this is a very good breakdown of parts and layout.

Fantastically helpful, especially the unlisted fuses.
Do you have any more details on the additional fan you have fitted to aid cooling.
Well done
You couldn' make a video about fitting the cooling fan could you i'd be very interested
In hindsight did you need to pull the fridge out, or could you have done it in place?

hello, how did you know it was the heating element to start with and not something else.. thanks.
