So good to watch. Thank you so much for sharing. ♥🇬🇧
I couldn't help but smile watching this ... and I'm a grumpy individual. I hope I can muster the courage to see you guys next year!
You should! The greatest adventure's are always on the other side of discomfort.
Hahaha I had a shit eating grin watching this too and I caught myself. Now I see your comment so I'm not the only one.😂
Haha glad I gave you a little time off from grumping!! Thanks!
This is beautiful. I will start skating again. ❤
Yes, do it!!!
Congrats on the inaugural Toronto Roll and thanks for your continued contributions to the global skate community!
Thanks so much for your encouraging support over many years C!!
This is bringing back my toronto roll high!! Already looking forward to the next one!
Glad I was able to make it. Hoping I gain enough skills to participate in the group skate next time!
Thanks so much for keeping the party alive at the track!
A wholesome feeling watching the full event. ❤
That was so awesome to watch! I can't stop grinning :D
From watching you shred your cores on your hockey skates on the streets to owning the streets.
It's been a wonderful journey watching you, Bill.
I wish I could be there skating too. 😅
I am still watching those old, long videos, with the slow narration and a quiet, simple skating (for the most time). I learned a lot from those, like how to maneuver with cars at a busy intersection. Not many people are showing that.
Wow a 10 years ago reference! It's been a trippy journey for me too! Thanks D!
@BillStoppard it really has. I picked up skating around 7 years ago watching your videos. My journey hasn't been as exciting, but here I am with a pack of 8-10 year old children learning to slate through me.
So your knowledge is spreading further than just RUclips friend.
I wish we had an event like this here in Houston
If you organize one, tell me and I'll give you 'shout outs' to help!
Actually going to have to get on a plane from the UK and come. Teaching my daughter to blade atm, I was a hardcore 90s skater and now have a fresh pair of Seba's. This is so inspiring almost brings a tear to my eye reminding me of how much community and belonging I used to feel in the skate scene when I was younger. Amazing event.
I'm in the UK too, I'm gonna try to get there myself next year.
Nice; thanks! Now you get to show this life to your daughter. So cool!
Yep she's absolutely loving it, reigniting the vibes! We skated through our city at night last weekend which was great, and she's only 9 :) @@BillStoppard
Wow so much people on skates !!!
_Woah,_ what an event! Such great, positive vibes all around. *Well done, **_all_** of you!* I've been dreaming of going skating in Toronto for years and now I know: if I ever get there, it'll have to be when there's another edition of Torontoroll. 🤘
Thanks TRR! There will be one this year but with far more warning.
What an Amazing event!!! Congratulations Bill, can't wait for the next year.
Thanks so much! Yes! Skate heaven comes back next year!
Ahh man I wish I could go to one of these events some time. I suppose I should get on social media and interact with other skaters 😅 I event lived in London too, for years. Well, better late than never! Nice video, Bill 🤘🏻looks like an amazing time.
This year was the pilot/promo reel. Next year is gunna be 10x. Amazing job. Loved to see it.
Haha, great perspective. when prepping I told myself this was the experiment (in case it flopped). I agree that next year will be the real deal!!
This an amazing feat Bill well done. Imagine what could be done on a world roll. 😮
World or Earth Roll!! Love it!
This is so beautiful to see...Maybe one day..
What a wonderful event. And thank you for the edit. Honors the work and passion in the organization of the roll
Love from India ❤
It was magical so happy my friends and I got to partake.
Thanks Bill and everyone else who made this possible.
Next year is going to be LIT 🔥
Good movement would fly to Toronto just for the skate and 💨
Wow this is great content. I like a lot of the quick scenes you captured. You got a radio voice! I like your usage of the F and S words in some of the context.
I found your channel from Reddit.
This looks awesome. I've been looking for an excuse to get into rollerblading/skating, and even though I love to ice skate, the transition to rollerblading scares me to death...
Maybe I'll start practicing with my rollerblades and see you guys out there in a couple of months for this years event!
Hello for all scaters from Toronto!
Smile and happines 4 all!
Peter from Zamosc (Poland)
Man I wish I had something like this in my town.
just got back to inline skating after a 20yr long break. missed the event but will definitely be there next year! looks fun!
Watched with awe and longing to be there, next yeah im going to be there!!! Blade running for life from NZ!!! Just a thought, of having it over a few days or so, making a long weekend of it, im sure many experienced skilled skaters (like myself) would love to assist in the many new beginners that would be attracted to the event, amongst other activity possibilities...
This was so fun! Was surreal meeting Bill and other skaters as well as skating the streets I’ve seen on RUclips through Bill’s videos
This was amazing Bill, it was my favorite ride of the summer by far!
What a wonderful turnout man. Excellent job organizing the event.
Amazing and impressive job of putting all of this together Bill!! Look like everybody had a lot fun would love to attend to one these events some time soon. 👊
Thanks so much Dan!!
I haven't watched you in forever, but I'm so glad to see you're still going strong
Congratulations Bill !!
Thanks for making TorontoRoll happen, Bill. There was definitely a special magic in the air that day and late into the evening. I can't wait for the next one, and may there be many, many more🔥🔥🔥
Nicely said Patrick! The magic was strong. TorontoRoll 2024 will be insane!
For real that was absolutely beautiful
Wooow, 🎉🎉🎉 I missed out...how I wish I was there...
Wow- looks like it was an awesomely successful event! Congratulations!! 🎉
Such a cool thing you did there, Bill :) Congrats!
such a fun event to attend, will definetely go again next time!
thanks for the beanie, too! ^^
Yay you got a much coveted beanie!! 🙏👊
Thank you everyone involved and to Bill, this was epic I can only imagine what the next event next year would be cant wait!
I can't wait RollTorono 24!!⚡️🫶🏼
I was smiling the whole time. Wholesome. I will have to make it out next year, never been to Toronto.
Amazing!😀🔥
Amazing content! I had so much fun being at this event! I can't wait for next year's. Thanks for hosting this, Bill!
Thrilling
Great event! What a moving narrative😊❤🎉
Thanks so much!! 🙏👊
looks like so much fun!
Amazing!
Great job all of You. I am not a group skate guy and prefer to go as I wish. Yet every time, at a few meeting I have been, I saw something new and fun to do. Particular stop, turn, strides, whatever. Those are eye openers and totally worth of the, I would use the word "challenges", of a group skating.
Good job! Impressive turn up!
Gotta love people. Even if it was a group meeting to share their love for salmon gutting it would be almost as much fun!
Should we organize a TorontoGut?
See you there next year!
Yeah nice! Cheers from Australia!
YES
Here I am wishing to be able to roller skate
Ahw man, that looks amazing. I really want to join next year.
If you were to publicize the date well in advance (like soon!) people from all over would come to Toronto for this!!
Ohh - This is so so SO COOOL!! If you're going to do it next year @billStoppard - please give lots of notice. I would be keen to fly in for it!!
Damn, Will b up there for the next one for sure!
You led a charge of riders and DIDN"T scream "Forth, Eorlingas"?! C'mon man!!!
Seriously though, amazing work. Definitely felt that high the one time i got to join the London crew back in the day...
please wait for me I'm ccooooommmmmiiinnnggggggggg 😂😂😂😂😂😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋
Been waiting for this 😁
Great video. Wish I was there. IDEA: Next time for rewards besides backpacks and wheels give away BEARINGS !! I would say bearings is what I change the most, being on my son's kick-scooter or our longboards... bearings are needed just everywhere. No need to be expensive bearings - could be just boxes of Spitfires ($14.95 at Zumiez) but bearings are just super useful. Because not everyone cleans his own bearings, many just throw the old ones and get new bearings. And no need for ceramic bearings - personally I use only cheap bearings because they are slow and I am rarely skating so I'm still a newbie and like it slower. Also this girl losing her wheel at 17:55 - it is weird she lost a wheel, which tells me her wheels were not tightened, which tells me she never inspected her skates prior riding. Whatever I'm about to ride (kick-scooter or longboard or whatever) it is a general rule to always at least tighten the bolts here and there and we all know that. So another great reward idea is to give away SKATE TOOLs and make few panels showing people basic rules how to maintain their skates, how to tighten the wheels without overtighten and so on and so on. I think you get my idea. And final idea - those marshals of yours - give them each bright lights to wear. I mean not only the stick to show people the way, but also few smaller, maybe flashing lights on their vests, to make them more visible.
That looks so exhilarating and unifying
Sorry for the bumping into you there, Bill; watch out cuz I'll be back next year!
Looks fun I’m in Oklahoma though
I just got my rollerblades two days ago and I'm really looking forward to participate in events!! When will the next event be?
*ROLLERBLADING FOREVER* (60 yo)
I just want to hear what that many wheels shredding the pavement sounds like.
I'm curious Bill, how long does it take you to put together a video like this?
This kind of community event are just historically epic !!!!!!!!!!!!111
Also, a lot of female skaters there I wonder where all of them are in my town 0_o
Nice thought! It did feel historically epic. (The girls are where the music is...probably the roller rink!😂)
rats can't believe I missed this
how do we get to go to one of these? Could beginners join you? I have two kids and myself that love this but we'd love to do this!
How do I get in touch with the skate community in Toronto?
I just picked up a pair of rollerblades this summer so if anyone has any tips please share! Kind of discouraging because I keep falling and bruising myself. how long did it take you guys to feel confident rollerblading?? FYI i used to rollerblade when I was younger and didn't struggle this much.
the biggest piece of advice is get good at balancing when standing. Your going to fall alot in the beginning. Imbrace it. I’m fully blind and crashed alot when i started. Studdy bills videos, and check out skate fresh asha on youtube. focus on stopping as a main point. Don’t be afraid to go slow at first. You can do it. Just keep at it.
Get knee, elbow, wrist pads. Fall on the pads.
Stay low. The stance should feel about like you're about to do a box jump.
If I happened to be there, I probably would have been the oldest person skating.
How can they skate in big groups and not run into each other? I don’t like to skate next to anyone or anything 😮
transplants ugh
I'm in the UK, I'm going to do my best to come to next year's Toronto Roll.
Amazing!
please wait for me I'm ccooooommmmmiiinnnggggggggg 😂😂😂😂😂😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋
