This is crazy i got a 85 monte carlo same stlye been wanting to the whole grand national look to it... i took the rag top off and started on the chrome mold and was looking for 5.3 engines and stumbled cross your beast... big motivation bro
I got the dirty dingo motor mounts when I put the engine in the power steering pulley touched the power steering box so I might have to take the motor out and put the engine body mounts in the middle of the frame
I have a 86 monte carlo with rebuilt transmission without the motor. It was a 350 in it and I wanted to know what I needed to put a 5.3 in and will I need a different transmission?
Chris Fielda no this car has a th350. You need a bushing for the back of the crank. I believe Hughes makes one. Just look up "LS to TH350 crank spacer" and you'll need to oval out the holes on the flex plate to accept a th350 converter. but not much work is needed. Takes about 10 minutes. I've seen guys buy an adapter flex plate, but the spacer will work great, and cheaper. As far as mating, all the holes line up. Just missing top passenger side bolt hole on motor for bellhousing. No problems
Stock mounts on the monte crossmember. 1" set back plates for the engine that convert the mount from ls to sbc. They were cheapie generic ones from ebay
You sir got a very beatiful car
Mc power

That's if you have a TH350 like mine did. I'm sure they make a different bushing for a 700r4 or 2004r
Im going to look it up now. Really appreciate your reply.
Sounds good

Factory truck pulley fit without hitting the steering box. I hear some hit and some don't. I got lucky with mine
Pretty badass. How do u like that air cleaner?
The air cleaner works great. I wanted something low pro for hood clearance.
How much horsepower is it making?

Stock mounts on the monte crossmember. 1" set back plates for the engine that convert the mount from ls to sbc. They were cheapie generic ones from ebay

how can i lower my RPM im at 2000rpm on laptop
On a carbed setup, all of your adjustments would be on the throttle linkage. I did all my tuning like that. I never used the laptop
do u know the part # from the headers ?
They are pace setter headers for a 98-02 camaro or firebird. Can't remember the part #. I know they were cheap, like under 200 bucks
thanks for the response. we're they the long tube or shorties ?
Long tube. I know they have a 3 inch collecter and I believe 1 5/8 primaries

pace setters for an f body with some persuasion, they fit great
