Very nice coverage of a rarely documented operation!

I had been trying for a while to spend a day with them but as regular as they are, they too can be mean and run earlier or later every once in a while and I had hit a string of them. And yes, even the lesser known jobs need a bit of video luv every once in a while

I lived in Waldo County for several years but never got futher north on 95 than the Lincoln mill. I lived in Searsport so I could hear the weekly propane tanker swaps but never captured much footage. I resented the fact that a bunch of outsiders killed the DCP Midstream plans, which would have brought a lot of tax revenue to our town. Thanks for posting this.

Glad you enjoyed this. There are a lot of short sighted people who only think about themselves and not others. They want everything but don't want to let others just have something. So sad. Hope you have a great day.

I love the north country as well. The mill is just on the north side of St. Leonard. NB.

Very interesting! Assuming the chips are being taken to IPP in Saint John how long does it take for the cars to do a round trip?

    • @KevsRailfanning

Correct on being Saint John bound. Not sure about the turn around time. the empties start getting loaded as soon as the train is out of the way. Maybe takes about 4-5 days to get the cars to Saint John. Just guessing.

@ I read they’re expanding the mill to increase production so should increase the rail traffic

@@zulubravo5733 Irving has been spending a lot of money on all their mills. Any increase on traffic is always welcomed. I am not sure how many cars that the St. Leonard mill can handle. As I am not there that often hard to tell. 44 loads is the most I have seen and i normally would expect about 38 cars or so.
