Gotta love the Volvo's! I'm on my fourth one in 10 yrs.. first one was a 240dl 500k miles and still running. Current one is 06 xc70 with 124k. Runs really strong and tight.
I'm seriously thinking of buying one now. They have a 1999 V70 XC, with 190K miles on it for $4K. I'm a little worried since Im not mechanically inclined at all but, I do maintain my cars. I had an '07 Jeep Compass for almost 12 years that never gave me any trouble. However, I had the oil changed, wheel alignments, and tires balanced and rotated at least three times a year. I replaced ball joints and the clutch at 100K miles. Unfortunately I ran into a truck and it was deeemed a total loss.
We just bought one that had a busted heater core and the driver side door won't open, costed about 2 grand, the guy would have sold it for about 6 thousand. Got the Heater Core replaced. It's a really good car though and runs very well, just about the same. Your engine looks very clean, good job! Hopefully someone buys this very soon.
I am buying one today. It is a 1999 as we'll 2 owner all serv records and 118k. My question to you is..... I am nervous about the 4x4 system. Aren't these troublesome? Have u had problems with yours? Good video!
Troublesome, yes. About half of the p80 (1998-2000) XCs I've seen have AWD problems in the angle gear. luckily there is the option of removing the driveshaft to the rear wheels and enjoying a front wheel drove wagon. In the short time I had mine I experienced no problems with the transfer case. My only complaint was that it was not a great awd system compared to my Subaru. Or any subaru, ever. Change the fluid in the bevel gear every 50k and pray it holds. Also, I'm comforted to hear that they still handle great in snow as fwd cars
+joe golden I have read of them still holding strong at 388,000 miles. If you keep the tires even, and service them when needed, they can last a long time. The quickest way to destroy the system is to drive it with miss matched tires.
I saw it, thanks. It seems that the years treat Volvos well in New Mexico. I am in Japan now, but I might fly down there some day to pick one up and drive it back to Oregon when I move there. I'm looking forward to seeing how your labor of love (Volvo Amazon) turns out.

so? did you get one? did it work out?
@@andrewbreazna I ended up getting another one, a '98 with less than 100K miles on it and love it. Four roadtrips so far.

I did the heater core in my V70T5 in an hour. Unless your engine overheated you shouldn't have been charged so much.
Well the car was 2 grand, in fact the heater core was included in the sale price.
I see, I thought you meant repairs were $2,000
Oh no, we'd never pay someone else to replace something anyway.
Wow, hold on to her.....😘
what did it sell for? I like all the features and am looking at a used one in my area. Good video.
Unfortunately we only got $1,900 because it's a hard market for used cars.
+Tabitha Tuckman I just bought one for 900! Good shape and everything.
Tabitha Tuckman damn I probably would have kept it at that price. Way too nice
Where is this? Very nice there
