@@brianweekes1 those were I believe, triumph wheels, though they had to machine custom hubs for them, so not a common sight for the GT’s, at least not with those specific wheels. I know the car went abroad, either Norway or Denmark, and as far as I know is still on the road, so it may well become available again one day
Thank you for your comment. Gary, the cars owner, has seent 12 years working on the car and still has projects in the pipeline for the car. I on the other hand, am planning another Marcos themed video, which will hopefully come off sometime next year
The Adams Brothers were ahead of their time with the Marcos GT and Probe 16, definitely the equivalent of the famous Italian design houses of the 60’s and 70’s. Not many Marcos GT’s made their way ‘Downunder’ though there was a distributor back in the day in Australia. I still have my Dinky version of the Probe 16… 50 years on!
A couple of vids of John Noakes came up on my feed showing him turning up to locations in a white Marcos, so I thought I'd check them out a bit. I do remember seeing one or two out and about as a kid and always liked the look of them. Still as beautiful today as ever.
Ah yes, whe looking these cars up I did see a couple of John Noakes clips, I think his was a 1600 GT wooden frame or if he had more than one, his early one was. This one was a metal chassis one, as is the Manrula we’re restoring currently
Great video - really enjoyed it - having raced a 3 litre wooden chassis Marcos for many years it is amazing how much power you can get out of the engine - on triple webers a full race Ric Wood engine gets over 280bhp which makes for a very exciting drive
Good morning Beth, thank you for the comment this really was a great car to film and may well be doing a further follow up separate from the OverDrive content soon
Hi my name is Samuel Adams I am the grandson of one of the original builders my grandad was peter adams and his brother Denise adams my grandad also created the probe 16 as seen in the famous film "a clockwork orange" we currently have an original wooden chasise model in his garage in Bradford on Avon that we dug out of a barn In Liverpool and I'm hoping to restore it and have it as my own one day as I did help retrieve it
Hi Samuel, thank you for your comment. It's not often you find something like this in a barn, so hopefully the restoration will go well. One thing I must say is I suspect Gary (The owner of the Marcos GT featured) would have loved to have had a wooden one, so rescuing one from a barn will certainly make yours have a truly unique history behind it. Good luck with the restoration
@@samueladams4359 We're looking to do a more detailed and dedicated video around Marcos in the next 4 to 6 months or so, so there is still scope for this
First off, thank you for the comment. While Gary has now sold the Marcos, the Mercedes is still there and is his daily driver. We covered the car here - ruclips.net/video/YTRbUg3CLgA/видео.html and it is a really nice vehicle.
Definitely looks better with those wire wheels, makes me want to buy one! Lovely car

Thank you for keeping one of the these lovely GTs in fine condition and sharing it at shows and on youtube. Well done to you.

Hi and thank you for your comment.
I can imagine racing these would be exciting cars to race, especially with the power boost to the engine
Thank you for this great video. I enjoyed it very much.

I think the wire wheels suit that earlier type. Thanks.

OverDrive Online it would be a dream to have someone talk about him and it would mean the work to me
