There is a great number of things that I really really enjoy about your guy's (&gal) channel. However, I think what I just love and appreciate the most about it and keeps drawing me in for more, is you all go above and beyond. Always taking it up a few notches to the highest level and standard. I'm an OCD perfectionist as well. And I never do anything by halves. My parents taught us kids to take pride in our work. If you are going to do something, do it right. And what we do is not just a reflection of our individual integrity and character, but reflection on our family values as well. Greatly appreciate your willingness to share your journey and adventures with the rest of us.
When I think of how long you've all been there, and the difference you've made! I'm in awe! You're are brilliant team and a loving family. Bravo to you all. Oh and, the consideration you pay your volunteers is wonderful.😊
they will teach you how to drive the mowers ...... and push a broom ...... and collect the eggs ..... and feed the chooks .... and and and and ..... you won't know unless you give it a go
You all work so very hard. Such a fabulous team and family. The caravan area looks great and will be more amazing than it is, once you can get the electricity going there and put some garden lights in. I'm sure your volunteers will appreciate all you've done so their stay to be comfortable. Don't forget to add a mirror in the bathroom, and maybe a hook or two to hang towels or clothes on. Looking forward to the next video. ☺🌺🥰
I recommend you put a light or a warning flag on a stick on the caravan's hitches as your volunteers may walk between the caravans in the dark and trip over the hitch. Happy Rob is back with you. Cheers from Toronto
Well, if you're not sufficiently proud of the work you've done on the Caravan area, there are 2.5 thousand thumbs up fans that are truly impressed and will tell you, job well done!!!
Dear Terry, Ash, and Tracy Your work is so admirable. One suggestion, and it is late. Please lay landscaping material under your gravel. The plastic is only a temporary option. The landscaping material under the gravel allows the rain to pass through and that will water your trees. There will be less weeds growing up through the landscaping material to the gravel. And, there are various grades of landscaping material. Get experienced advice on which one will serve your needs. So sorry, not to have been in your decision process earlier to warn you that plastic was not a good choice. Anyway, cheers to you all. Love your videos and can't miss them! Liza
What a coincidence...I've just said the same thing. Landscaping material will probably be more expensive than the sheeting they have used...may just have to use what they can afford. They could always spike it I suppose. It's sloping so perhaps it won't be too bad.
The caravan landscaping is phenomenal compared to the outset of the project. Great views and rest areas. The shower, bathroom looks amazing. Your volunteers should be quite happy with their spaces. You could add some variegated hostas in with your ferns; they can thrive in the shady areas and give a little more contrast in the caravan gardens.
It looks great around there. The idea to do that area for the campers was so smart really. I don't think it was boring at all, when you take a mess and tidy it up that's inspirational. Thank you. I hope your backs are not too sore after all the gravel.
I'm so excited for the canopy restoration. That's going to make an enormous difference to the exterior. In the absence of the shutters, it will be transformative. They help to draw the eye to the entrance and they really are quite elegant too. I hope you intend to restore the one leading out to the walled garden too.
Terry, no need to apologise, I and I bet everyone else loves watching everything you do, it all adds up to making the chateau whole again. The volunteers' area is superb what a lovely space to relax I so wish I could come over but I'm not sure apart from planting weeding and general pottering I'd be much use, (I'm disabled) but one day I will come over and stay :)
Hi everyone,OMG😱 you’ve worked so hard getting the shower 🚿 block finished 👌 the caravan area looks great with the added touches of plants 🪴& the seating,is absolutely perfect to chill with a nice cold drink 🍹 Love that you’ve exposed more cobble stones, they add more character to the area! Take care lots of love 🥰💕
You are all realizing an incredible dream at Chateau de la Lacelle!!! Truly stunning projects!!! 🥰❤️🏰 Glad to see Patrick on the job!!! ❤️🐕 Your new camper area is BRILLIANT and INVITING for your workers!!! 🌲🌳🎶🌻🇫🇷
What a wonderful area you’ve created for your volunteers, we love everything you achieve, don’t apologise for anything Terry. We think you’re all amazing ❤❤❤
Your caravan area is clean and so thoughtful with gorgeous views of the countryside. The secret garden holds wonderful archeological finds - I think whoever placed the stones there were waiting for your family to rediscover their beauty.
Terry, the gardens are an integral part of the château, as much in the renovation as the buildings themselves. As renovation addicts, we enjoy seeing anything you folks have to offer. Consider ferns, plus different hostas for the caravan’s shaded areas. Everything is coming together so nicely. You are all a pleasure to watch. Thanks for all of the hard work. ❤ Enjoying you from Mexico City where it’s been 32º, and 34º every day for weeks. 😅
You've made a big difference with the gravel and the shower unit for the volunteers. They will appreciate it. Before the volunteers come, open the caravan for fresh air a few days before.
I would set those caravans up on blocks and maybe even take the wheels off to preserve the tyres since you are planning to leave them there for quite some time. Store them in a somewhat climate controled place to preserve the rubber. That area looks nice and inviting now. It's a good thing Patrick doesn't have hands. He would be digging holes with a shovel all over for you to fall in. 😅😂😅😂
Never apologize for the content of your videos, this was wonderful and the high speed gravel spread was highly entertaining! The caravan area looks gorgeous especially with the flowers, plants and shady seating areas. We love watching you all especially when The Super gets involved (those little feet of his take him everywhere 💕💕💕)thank you as always xxxalex in Florida
Found a great tip for your water feature in that awesome trough you found. Buy some lemon grass and cut the greens into half inch pieces to float in the water. It illuminates, bacteria and green slime. I’m sure the birds will appreciate it! It’ll help you maintenance wise. Love all your episodes and never miss one! 😀
I can’t remember if I commented on your new opening to the videos, but it is sooooo good!!!! I absolutely love the music and the videography is amazing!! Thanks for putting in the hard work of doing the videos but also the chateau and gardens. Love seeing the progress and can’t wait to see more as you continue to work on your wonderful home. 🐶💙🍷🙏
I love seeing the "just"projects getting done. We are also putting down weed barrier and rocks everywhere we can on our property. These things gotta be done!
The caravan area looks fabulous I am sure Rob will appreciate it alot of hard work well done of course you have your four legged supervisor keeping an eye on things x❤
Your videos are ALWAYS AMAZING!!!!… please… never.. ever apologize…. They are very interesting… and so much kudos to you and your family for all the work you have thus far done!…. Everything you do is so well thought out… and done with so much love and care…. I .. for one appreciate ALL your videos… I always look forward to them…. Wishing you continued success in all your endeavours!….. Big hugs to your family… 💕.. 🇨🇦
having smashed my skins into many a trailer's tongue, I would advise putting a potted plant or something next to them so that your volunteers don't do the same in the dark! Great work by all of you.
Im not a vintage nor antique specialish by any means, just a girl from Oklahoma USA but i love to look at beautiful things... When i went on to ETSY and searched vintage chandeliers in Louis style they had some beautiful ones and alot were in France. Maybe give it a shot, it may not be anything of intrest like i said I AM NOT ANYWHERE CLOSE TO A PROFESSIONAL 😂😂😂 LOVE AND HUGS TULSA OKLAHOMA ❤❤❤❤
You’ve made the volunteer space a lovely and inviting area with all your hard work and effort, not to mention the inspiration to creat such a nice, cozy result. Well done, as always!
The volunteers’ area is certainly looking cozy, and this private zone will soon be a completed task, you work so hard to make things happen. Congrats! I’m happy to know reinforcements are coming, what a wonderful thing to count on Rob and Graham.
It looks great in the Caravan area . You are gradually getting things done . Things take time to do and I think you are all doing a wonderful job . I hope you all have a wonderful week
Terry: The mud stains at the base of the wood panels on the left side of the caravan enclosure are the result of rain splatter, largely due to the fact that the panels are set too close to the ground. I agree with the commenter who said this last week. You have enough room on the support posts to raise them so as to lessen this effect. At least 4 to 6 inches at a minimum. Otherwise, you will speed water damage to the lower sections. Last week, I commented on the matting near the driveway. Around the 17-minute mark in this vlog, I noticed water puddling on top of the matting near the rear of the middle caravan, which I assume was caused by rainfall. That is what will happen under the gravel in a heavy rainstorm, and you do get torrential rain in Normandy occasionally. Eventually, it will cause the gravel to shift, beginning on sloped sections. That is because the matting used is impermeable. It won't let water pass through. This is why the best material to use is landscape fabric, which is designed with water challenges in mind. The extra cost of that fabric is well-worth it in the long run Every home owner eventually comes to the realization that water can be destructive and can undo your hard work. If you are proactive, you will save yourself a lot of grief and money.
Your kindness in offering the volunteers a safe and practical haven is well above commendable and full of love. A thousand blessings on each if you and your familues. Im new at watching your journey towards completion if the chateau. Your work and the results is totally amazing.
Hi Terry & Ash & Tracy! Love what ya did with the bath house & caravan park(it REALLY looks nice!) I have been following since you moved in & love the hard work you all have put in to this beautiful Chateau. I also love the history & appreciate you sharing it with us! Have a gr8 day!
just a p.s. for future possibility: I am Happy Happy with Any footage but I always yearn for much longer "after" footage of every finished (and semi-finished) project; not artistic glimpses and angles, just longer so my eyes can soak it all in. 🙂 But I am Grateful you are sharing this, so anything is also spiffy. 😊
What a beautiful spot for your volunteer's to just sleep and veg while they're working. Great place to maybe build cabins for paying customer's eventually.
The caravan area is looking great, your volunteers will be very comfortable staying there, plus the shower shed looks amazing. With the gravel and all the plants the whole area has been made into a very relaxing place. Well done everyone, I loved seeing Sasha checking on Tracy and Patrick inspecting all your work. 💕🇦🇺
What a great space you've created for the volunteers! Id add some street light in the corner and probably an insect repellent 😂. With so much to do around the chateau it's so great to see you invest in the area for the volunteers... ❤

Mirror and ventilation as well
The caravan area looks SO much more inviting. Wish I were 20 years younger and strong enough to come help while staying there.

I wouldn’t mind staying in one of the caravans & volunteering to help around the chateau. Imagine all the fascinating people you would meet.

It really is amazing what Patrick has been able to get his team to do in such a short time! His dreams really are coming true.
Painting of the shed bathroom was very satisfying to watch. I couldn’t imagine how beautiful it would be when it was finished.
Of course, Patrick is supervising ALL the digging, like the little expert he is!
You folks are certainly attentive to the needs and comfort of your volunteers. You did a beautiful job on their areas! Well done!
Your attention to the comfort of al of your volunteers will keep the Chateau restoration always moving forward. This is just brilliant!!!
Patrick loves to be in the middle of it all
You have created a nice spot for the volunteers. I am sure they will appreciate your efforts. 👍
Tracy sure can throw that stone fast.🤪🤠

Watch for a second cobbled path, there might be a second one if it was used for horse carts
something tells me it's a yard surface .... not just a path
Personally, I like watching everything y'all do whether it's inside or out. 😁❤️

Those cobbles would make great raised beds for herbs etc near your outside kitchen
The original cobble path would be so charming! A power washer would get the dirt off the top easily.
What a nice space for the volunteers.
You and ash should go get that chandelier then you could have a mini vacation at the same time
The volunteers may never want to leave! You are all just like the energizer bunny.
The caravan area is fabulous, and that view! Love, love the shower room!
You've created a lovely restful place for the volunteers! Looks really beautiful! 💙💚🌿💚💙

Your surroundings are much more cheerful after all that work. Enjoying the outside whether working or resting is just as important. Best wishes.
Hi everyone, the caravan area looks so good, it's not boring, the progress we see with each video is amazing no matter what it is. The cobbles were a nice surprise, looking forward to uncovering them. Well done all. Love from N.Y.
You mentioned cherry trees, to protect your fruit from the birds hang tinsel from the trees this is what we do in Spain and its worked on my cherry & plum tree
The perfect colour sample of your gravel is the stone wall Terry made around the caravan. Landscape gardener speaking.
Terry looking for a chandelier! ..what has the world come to!!! 🤣
Terry you getting Volunteers they can help with digging out the path… it will look beautiful
Question……when you paint why don’t you use rollers? Your job would finish so much faster! By the way….your team work is amazing !😊
Of all the DIYers on You Tube you all are the hardest working and make more progress in the least amount of time! Bravo!!
👏👏👏👏😍😍😍😍
lovely areas created …….. inviting
Eu agradeço em poder compartilhar este sonho com vcs, sou brasileiro.
Bjs no coração 💓
You are all doing a great job! Just wonderful.
You probably already thought of this but I’ll saw by it anyway, - Please be sure you put something very visible over the tongue of the trailers. I was thinking as you walked past the center trailer that you knew it was there, bI’d be the one to trip over it, day or night. 😬
It could be rods coming up to 4 1/2 feet to maybe 5 feet with reflectors on them. In a type of triangle, meaning the shape of the tongues. At least two per rod. Maybe including a light.

Me grooving to the opening music.

So much gravel needed.
Things are looking much nicer.
Amazing transformation , i`m sure your helpers will appreciate it .
The wall feature next to the caravan is a nice touch. Can't wait to see the canopies restored, at least cleaning the metal of that rust.
I like that there's always something new to discover. The volunteers should be very happy with the camper area ,it looks great.
