dude, this is one of the few videos on youtube of home servers that is impressive. This is truely impressive, I really wish I could achieve this soon :) I'm only currently running 6 x HP DL380 12GB 2 x 3.2Ghz Xeon's. All ESX 3.5 hosts, with a VI3 infalstructure with fibre backbone. I think my next step is a propper rack :) But you're video is truely inspirational!!!
What steps have you taken in regards to cooling? I can just imagine the heat generated by the equipment. You have a very interesting setup and it is very neat (i like neat). Furthermore, will you be considering upgrading the network to an fibre network?
I got over that a few years ago after paying 9 months of crazy power bills. Dropped down to two physical servers and vmware. Two switches (I really only need one but I don't like having my DMZ on the same physical switch as my production network.) I have access to plenty of Cisco and Procurve at work so the home network just has what it needs. Nicely done rack and very nice cabling work though!
Hello. It seems for each server in your rack, you have at least 3 network cables coming out. Is it link aggregation for extra throughput or just for something else. I want to do something like that but I don't know how to configure or what hardware to get (ie type of switch). I would appreciate if you could help me. thanks. Great vid BTW
Have you considered folding@home, or possibly running Boinc. A server like that could be tremendously helpful for science research via volunteer grid computing.
Apenas um rápido vídeo mostrando o meu IBM servidores e equipamentos de rede Cisco no meu quarto servidor de casa. Eu, provavelmente, fazer upload de um vídeo mais detalhado sobre o rack mais tarde.
This is so beautiful, without doubt the most impressive server rack i ever seen :-)
Dude, very nice and very organized. If I could award you with a plaque I definately would. Serioulsy, hats off to you.
Looks like some nice equipment, especially the rack. Beautiful cabling btw (from switch(s) to back of rack.

What is the Cisco device directly below your 2900XLs? Is that one of the Cisco/Linksys gigabit switches? Beautiful setup, by the way!

The white label on the back of the top server, where have I seen that naming convention before?
How did you get all that equipment and now much cooling did you have to put in your hosue to support it?
how do you sleep with that in your house lol! but amazing cable management!
how are you keeping that at the correct temp? didn't notice any kind of a cooling system.
to run all this equipment like in an apartment ..will it be able to any different specs needed power wise?
Awesome setup, really tidy cabling.
i swear that you dont work alot in this room i yill go crazy with this hiiiiiiiiiiiing sound ! nice work!

What internet connection speed do you have?
Looks great, and expensive :)
Have you ever offered hosting service to others?
just wondering how much power do these server consume?

@PoweredbyCiscoIBM do you have a dedicated ip for you web testing?

how much electricity do those eat up?
I feel sorry for your power bill. Nowadays, I wonder if it wouldn't also be more efficient to just get a handful of multi processor systems .
excellent patchwork.
I wish I was rich enough to have a huge rackmount server like that...
I'd probably have it fold proteins 24/7...
Why do you need so much stuff if that is for your house?
Why do house hold so much serverov?
