At last, a decent tutorial on how to do no.3. I also like the tip using tin foil as It’s time consuming to use thread to wrap around especially when I am making 100 gift bags and I either use cord or ribbon for the handles and so that’s 400 tips! Thank you
Yep! My laces of my boots was too long, so instead of ordering right size laces and going through re lacing my dr martens, I cut off some cm and did this. 😂
Yes, we did search it. Doesn't make this video less dumb. If I wanted to tape my shoelaces with cellophane tape, I wouldn't be searching for a video on how to fix them properly.
My hair dryer on high is not warm enough. This said you could do the same above the flame of a lighter (no contact with the flame, just above reducing the distance to the flame until you the shrinking occurs)
There is also the super professional method: use an electrical ferrule big enough to fit the lace, and crimp with a hexagonal profile tool (there are also square profile ones, not recommended). To squeeze the lace in, you can use methods 1 and 2.
0:05 #1 The Quick One - Klebeband herumwickeln 0:55 #2 The Sturdy One - Eindrehen, in Kleber tunken, aushärten lassen (mir riet zu Leim als Klebstoff) 2:33 #3 The "Like-A-Pro" One - Schrumpfschlauch herumwickeln und mit Heissluftpistole verfestigen 4:15 #1 vs #2 vs #3 - Ergebnisse im Vergleich 👆 Kapitel zum Einspringen
That will depend of you hairdryer, mine is barely able to make the tubing shrink. An alternative is to hold the whole above (2cm above, i.e. not touching) the flame of a lighter for just half a sec, check and repeat
Love it when someone comes with the @Buy something@ ultimate solution to every problem... shows how far many people have been brainwashed to only think with their wallet... lovely!
I totally agree with you, is sad how consumerism creates that idea that is better to fill trash bins with useful things and buy more future trash than repair, reuse and recycle just for the sake of our beautiful world. What a future would nowadays children have when present seems like this... @@TheLabOtomy
The mentality to throw away immediately instead of trying to repair ruined our society and planet. I want to encourage you to try build and/or repair something yourself! It can give you quite some pride and joy, really! The feeling that one can built and fix things oneself. Not always being a dependent consumer at all times. But knowing you can do stuff yourself. Good luck with your craftmanship!

Can you use a hairdryer on high? I don’t know what a heat gun is.

Is it possible for me to use a hairdryer to do the 3rd’s step?
That will depend of you hairdryer, mine is barely able to make the tubing shrink.

What size tubing did you use?
Those were 4 mm in diameter
La última es genial😊😊
😊
You can buy metal tips that you attach with a screwdriver, costs as much as new laces.
Thanks, good to know

Es hält zwar nur durch Komprimierung
Der Satz scheint unvollständig. Verstehe die Antwort so leider nicht.

When you spend hundreds on your shoes fiver lace won't be the solution you rather try to fix the original ones
