    Shambhala 2023 was incredible - my fourth Shambhala, and this year was my favourite of the four! I was there for every day, and saw 16 sets in their entirety.......
    i went completely sober this year, and had zero problems the whole time;
    i brought my own water in a cooler as 4 Litre milk jugs, and drank them as they thawed;
    i didn't struggle with overcrowding because i chose a variety of artists that was not just the "common" favourites.......a lot of people go to the big names, and missed out on the true diamonds in the rough......for example, the daytime shows that i went to were not at capacity, and were the most fun! however, the midnight shows were at capacity, and there was not much room to dance expressively......i equate it to rush hour....... many people missed out on the opportunity to schedule their day and catch some of the "underrated" shows - but went to the "overrated shows".......by branching out from the headliners into some of the more unknown artists at non-peak times, there was an opportunity to go to shows that were not overly packed, and had room to move around within the stage, and to move around expressively while dancing;
    i scheduled myself for long days of multiple sessions, so that i didn't rely on one or two long sessions at the peak times;
    i never had to wait more than 3 or 4 minutes for the toilet, i always carried my dancing shoes and drinking water in my backpack......in the daytime i also carried flip flops and a towel, so that i could rinse off in the river and then walk back to camp in comfortable shoes......i also kept a flashlight and bandana for the walks to camp......the dust wasn't bad at the stages, only for the walks to/from camp;
    alohazz;

    This was my first Shambs and when I tell you it was unmatched!! Yes, it felt like a lot of people there in terms of audience but I think that with the stages having all having a decent amount of space for people to still enjoy themselves even with a packed crowd. The DJs for sure pulled out their special tracks, ID and mixes that have been unheard and played noche shit that was A-1. I could be biased by Tech House took over and I was sooooo here for it! Such a free spirited environment and mind clearing experience. Can’t wait for next year.

    Shambs 2023 was my fourth year and yet again, an unforgettable experience! Though, Koji did hit the nail on the head in regard to oversights. Overcrowding was real and the lineup in was the longest I've ever seen (arrived at 11pm Wednesday and got in Thursday 3pm). I highly recommend arriving as early as possible to avoid the wait AND staying the extra night after the festival. It was my first time staying the extra night and I will always from here on out. The lineup out was standstill traffic at 6+ hours with check-stops. Sounds miserable after a bender. Water stations in the Sunshine campground (camping with your car) were dry 50% of the times I walked over, mind you I only wanted to fill my solar shower so it wasn't a big deal. Forget the plastic water bottles and bring large water jugs with a hand pump, you'll thank me later. Anyway, vibes were immaculate, creativity was so inspiring, lineup was incredible (and artists truly love experiencing Shambhala - you may catch John Summit at a 6am Skream OG Dubstep set or Boogie T chilling along the river). Community was thriving, production was next level. The long wait to get in or the huddles you and your camp must navigate throughout the festival are quickly forgotten about or washed by endless things this festival and the community within has to offer. Shambhala is a bucket-list item - mark it down and check it off ASAP. Happy Shambs!
