Michio Kaku Explains Gravity and Laws of Motion” is an enlightening video where the world-renowned theoretical physicist, Dr. Michio Kaku, simplifies and explains the complex concepts of gravity and laws of motion.
Dr. Michio Kaku, born on January 24, 1947, in San Jose, California, is a leading figure in the field of theoretical physics. He is one of the founders of string field theory, a branch of string theory, and has made significant contributions to theoretical physics. He has also worked on predicting Einstein’s gravitational waves and on developing a theory of everything. His research interests include string field theory and quantum field theory. He has also written several scholarly, Ph.D. level textbooks on string theory and quantum field theory which are required reading at many of the world’s leading physics laboratories.
In this video, Dr. Kaku brings his expertise to the table as he simplifies and explains the complex concepts of gravity and laws of motion. Gravity, as per Albert Einstein’s general theory of relativity, is not a force but the curvature of spacetime caused by the uneven distribution of mass. It causes masses to move along geodesic lines. On the other hand, Newton’s law of universal gravitation states that every particle in the universe attracts every other particle with a force that is directly proportional to the product of their masses and inversely proportional to the square of the distance between their centers.
Newton’s three laws of motion help someone understand how objects behave when standing still, when moving and when forces act upon them. Newton’s First Law: Inertia states that an object at rest will remain at rest, and an object in motion remains in motion at constant speed and in a straight line unless acted on by an unbalanced force. Newton’s Second Law: Force states that the acceleration of an object depends on the mass of the object and the amount of force applied. Newton’s Third Law: Action & Reaction states that for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction.
Dr. Kaku’s ability to explain complicated physics concepts in terms people can understand and appreciate is truly remarkable. This video is a must-watch for anyone interested in gaining a deeper understanding of these fundamental concepts in physics.
