Thanks for the shout-out, Steve! You pick up some awesome cards! You always find amazing ungraded cards. I hope to meet you in Strongsviile or a National in the future.
Beautiful Brett Kelloggs. Digging the 64 Pinson and the Tiant RC. Nice 71 Hank Aaron. 59 Killebrew, 64 Stargell, McCovey does have nice looking cards and i am probably odd man out but love the 60 RC Cup. Palmer has a lot of nice looking cards as well. 58 Maz, Mays, Mantle. Great stuff. Enjoyed.
Great pickups Steve! Great month of July. You know I love the Stargell and Maz. Those 58 All stars are awesome. Congrats on getting those into the collection.
Hi Steve, You had a busy and fruitful July! I always enjoy hearing your thoughts on your collection and your approach to growing it. There are many cards out there competing for our limited funds, and it's easy to pick the low-hanging fruit rather than taking the time to climb up the tree. My issue with buying high-priced cards is that I don't feel the time and money involved to acquire a card like that will bring me as much satisfaction compared to buying several other cards that I connect with at a lower cost. We all have our own comfort levels within the hobby, and I just haven't been pulled in that direction up to this point. Who knows, that may change. I wish you the best with your approach of adding some doubles to sell to help achieve some of your collecting goals. The Jerry West and Aaron rookies are incredible cards. You added some wonderful cards. I know you're not a big fan of the McCovey rookie, but it's nice to have it in your collection given how much you like him as a player. Acquiring a lower-grade example is a smart approach. This way you have it without spending a lot on it. That is a nice Palmer rookie. I've always liked that card since I was a kid. It stood out because he was alone on the card, unlike his contemporaries Ryan, Carlton, and Seaver, who all shared their rookie cards. I’m not sure Vada will get into the Hall of Fame even though I think he should. Smart move to get a Tiant before he does get into the Hall of Fame. It's only a matter of time for him. He has a great rookie too. Thanks for sharing all your pickups.
Thanks, Terry! There are just so many cards I like, there are probably 15 big cards I would like to add to the collection. the big issue is I don't always feel comfortable spending that much for a card. I think I just need to save a bit, be patient, and pick up a few when the time is right. I agree with you on the Palmer RC standing out because it is a solo card. I also agree that with you on Pinson, although I believe he should get in I think his opportunity may have passed him by. Tiant should also be in the Hall, his RC is such a nice card, really happy to have finally grabbed it!. Enjoy the rest of your week my friend!
Hey Steve! Wow! You picked up some big names, my friend. Aaron, Mays, Williams, Mantle…congrats! Also, you got me interested in the Maz card. Love the look of it and might try to pick up one. Take care!
Great pickups, Steve. The '59 Killebrew, '64 Stargell and '71 Aaron look really, really good. And you can never go wrong with Mantle. July was a good month! Thanks for sharing, my friend!
Hey Steve! What a July you had! I’m I’m the same boat about slowing down on the smaller cards and focusing on the bigger ones. The ‘58 Maz is my favorite of his as well and you picked up an excellent example. Completely agree on your take on Palmer. Hope you enjoy the Olympics! We’re big fans of the swimming as well. My wife and I took our kids to Indy to watch the prelims. Hope all is well and you’re enjoying your summer.
Love the Olympics as well. Hope you can make it next year to the National. Really like the Kellogg cards. Looking forward to seeing the Pinson card you plan to grab. And I agree he should be in the HOF.
